Should i still get a Dolphin if i already have 2 high level sharks?

Was kinda thinking these 2 sharks can protect and escort me on the dolphin when i go for pearls and oil and then they can protect the dolphin when i'm on land.


good idea or should i just get the shark saddle when i hit level 45 (currently level 42) and call it a day?

The dolphin is really really fast, you won't need protection since you can out swim anything. Also, if you level the dmg on the dolphin enough, it can take on multiple sharks if you hit and swim.

It's definitely worthwhile. they are super fast which means you can get to the ocean floor very quickly. And as Chief said, if you level up it's damage you can easily take on megalodons. I can also confirm they're good fighters as that's what I did with mine.

The dolphin is the best mount for farming oil/pearls, period. You can easily farm without worrying about oxygen because you can get to the surface in few seconds, and don't have to worry about sharks because you're like 10x times faster. Also, you can store dolphins in a dino gated pen instead of a behemoth.

And you can tame one in like 10 mins and saddle is ridiculously cheap.

I have 1 dolphin and 1 shark. I use the shark when I want to go hunting or collect oil and pearls from the ocean floor. I use the dolphin when I want to travel far distances or visit caves. Obviously I closed up the caves that are large enough for sharks to fit in, so that my dolphin stays safe while I'm in the cave.
I didn't even bother upgrading the damage or health of my dolphin. I just upgrade his stamina because he's my quick get around transportation.

i guess ill look for one then. good thing these sharks can protect it from death since i really hate looking for dolphins because of how hard they are to find since all the sharks eat them.
