Creating a Single Player "Tribe"
Is it possible to create a tribe of characters in single player? Because you cannot unlock all the engrams, I want to be able to create a tribe of 3 different characters that all have access to the same resources and dinos.

I know that you can change characters by going to the obelisks, but I haven't found a way to get all the different single player characters into a tribe.

You don't need multiple characters because of engrams. You can find blueprints to craft stuff, sometimes better versions than the ones you craft with your engrams. Be careful what you spend your points on, and only buy engrams for stuff you can't find or want to craft often.

You need an Active Tribe owner to invite anyone to said tribe.
Requiring at least 2 characters present to be able to form a multi person tribe.

This alone kinda removes the Single out of Singleplayer.

In order to craft everything in SP. Look for Blueprints in the Supply drops.

Eh, what? How does that "remove the Single out of Singleplayer"? It has nothing to do with single player! At least you are able to craft everything with one character and can make a 1-person tribe. What's more single than that?

Because you need a Second person to be ACTIVE in order to invite the first one to the tribe.
Ergo. That's multiplayer in a nutshell.

And I'm talking about making tribes of more then 1 person, which IS what the OP asked for.

I was hoping to have a couple different characters with different specs. Like one person who is really good at swimming, one who can carry alot, and one who is good for fighting. Guess I'll just have to use dinos for carrying.

I've been playing single as well and have collected a bunch of blueprints from supply drops but havn't used one yet. Are they single use or permanent?

It would be pretty cool if they had NPC humans in the game. If you'd encounter one in the wild you'd build a campfire and put meat on it to attract them. When one approaches you open an inventory window and give them cooked meat. You can then see their stats and built in crafting engram. If you're not interested you send them on their way with a meal in them, other wise you recrute them into the tribe.

At that point they act like a trained dino. Have them gather stuff (wood, thatch, rocks, berries) or follow you and attack what you do. (also like trained dinos do)
You'd have to feed and protect them like any other pet, but they'd be worrth keeping around because each would come with 1 or 2 built in engrams that you might not have.
You'd access the engram by putting the materials in their inventory, selecting the engram on their side of the screen and taking the finished product.

This would allow solo players to get a taste of village life without the bother of multiplayer and it's issues.

blueprints you can use over and over. problem is, by time you find the blueprints, you've most likely already took the engrams for the common ones. I have a collection of 27 different blueprints, and the main sp character has all but 1 of those engrams.

from what I understand as well, you can't use blueprints to advance in engrams, for instance if you have a waterskin blueprint on you, you can't get the jar engram, so you still have to take the waterskin engram to get it.

You could always edit your game.ini to give you more engrams per level.

Dinos are great for specs like that. You can ride one or you can have one following you, or both. That gives you a lot of versatility. Having at least a fair amount of swimming is always a good idea because riding a water dino doesn't make you immune to drowning.

They are permanent as long as you don't lose them somehow. Caleb68 is correct, blueprints cannot be used to fulfill requirements for advanced engrams. Therefore items which you will craft often and which are also requirements for other engrams are good ones to buy. Things you don't craft often or which otherwise often appear in supply drops are good to acquire as blueprints.

This is an awesome idea I have thought of this sort of thing myself. Also what if there was some sort of AI Amazon Women Tribe. It would be consisting of only female AI bots. They will have a base somewhere on the map. Every soften say every 15 or 20 minutes or so, one Amazon leaves the Amazon Village and begins to roam the ARK.... If you encounter one they will try to kill you. They will flee from you if their health gets too low. Also if more then one AI Amazon meet in the wild they stick together from then on out allowing them to build up in numbers over time if they survive in the wild long enough. The Amazons will be enemies to all tribes. Making them more of a nuisance in the game just like Alphas. When the Amazons encounter wild carnivores they will engage based upon their level as do all the wild creatures do on the island. They cannot be tamed, but every time you kill one it attracts more wild Amazons in the area to the location where the Amazon Woman was killed. Also after killing them, they will yield great rewards in their inventory, like high level weapons, special Amazon Blueprints etc. If you try to attack their base it will most definitely be a difficult task, for the re spawn rate gets faster at the base for every Amazonian you kill on their own base. They will always have high level tames on hand at the base that can be claimed if one manages to over take the Amazon base. The only way to claim the base is to make it to the central part of the base and kill their leader which will be located in the heart of their base and made very difficult to get to. An almost impossible task to achieve in Single Player mode. And no one can possibly claim the base permanently.

just a thought....

#1 no its not possible to invite a player to tribe without being in front of that player. #2. you can spawn items. if that feels too cheaty.. spawn the blueprint then craft the item. #3. i play solo on pvp officials.. i get by fine i feel you can do it in single player as well :) as its much easier.

I don't know what everyone's talking about.

I made it to max level and was able to unlock almost everything I would ever use even up in metal tier.

I was bored one weekend and developed a small application that allows you to play multiple characters in Single Player (only).

You can find the application at the Github project[github.com]. If you find any bugs be sure to raise issues about them there.

That sounds like a cool tool and all, but it's kind of annoying having you bump multiple months old threads. Just make a new thread, or at least just bump one and let people find it. No need to keep bumping thread after thread.
