How to kick/ban players from a private server?

Hi!

I have a private dedicated server which I have had alot of bad ppl joining. I've tried alot of ways to kick/ban these but I haven't succeeded and now I need your help. How the hell do I do this?

I have enabled chats and logged in with my admin password and I can do most of the commands with no problems but as fast as I try to kick someone it doesn't work. I'm using http://steamidfinder.com/ to get the 64-encoded string but it doesn't work. Anyone have a clue?

Also, is there a better way to kick/ban than the steam64id? I want to prevent using steamids in chat cause we have streamers on the server. Is that possible?

Thanks for your reply. What is arkon? Guessing its some sort of adminmod? My server is hosted by a company so I don't have access to the physical machine, I only have a interface to work with and have no arkon in my mod manager.

If there is an addon that makes this, it gotta be doing the right commands. Anyone knows what these are?

Enable RCON on your server and then ingame type in console "ShowMyAdminManager". That will open nice GUI that you can easily select player and ban him for example.

Oh, so that was why the manager wasn't working before. When I've enabled the RCON. I can see the names of my whitelisted players in the box at the bottom but I can still not see online players and other people are able to join even if they isn't whitelisted.

Do I need to turn on whitelisting as a feature? I've added rconport and rconenabled=true to my gameusersettings. Any ideas from some pro ppl?

If someone else have any problems with the 64 strings. You need to put in the steamprofile twice on the website I've posted in the first post.

So:
1. Put in the profile link
2. Copy the result
3. Paste in and search again
4. Use the new code in AllowedCheaterSteamIDs.txt (or in kick/ban)

My question about ShowMyAdminManager still stands. I cannot run the command "listplayers" either. Anyone have any ideas?

Are you prefixing it with 'cheat' as in

cheat listplayers

AllowedCheaterSteamIDs.txt is the list of admins essentially and by adding your id to that, you are allowed to use the 'cheat' prefix.

Why not just use the built-in admin manager?

Console command: ShowMyAdminManager

You'll see the IDs of everyone connected, and it also allows you to select the right command via a UI.

You get perma banned for practicing the dark arts and raising the dead.

On a serious note thats at the admins discretion assuming it was an unofficial server.

A server that has a cheating admin is not worth playing on, just move onto another server.

Admin or owner of an unofficial server can do anything they want on their server. After all they own the server/run it.

If you get the "you've been kicked" its perm. There is no time ticker in place for temp bans. The owner can only unban manually if they choose to.

But lets me honest here. if you're having friction with such an owner, do you really want or care to try to play there anymore? With 20,000+ privately owned servers in Ark Im sure you can find something else.
