Lower AOE attacks on some pets
As everybody knows pets are extremely strong. Even if you nerf things on your server as in my case. level 90 max dinos. wild dinos have double resistance and hit 4x as hard. Pets hit 25% weaker. Making it worse just makes leveling a low level pet impossible.

The problem is that once leveled your good pets like carnies, rexes, and spino's just wreak things. Sure with my server settings, they get hurt, but they still never really get afraid.

I realized as my rex killed a band of 8 raptors exactly what the problem was. The AOE bites allow massive amounts of damage to all dino's. Remove the AOE bites (or lower the area)and pets get a lot more balanced.

Any thoughts?

Dunno about you but the rubber-banding makes it to where AOE is the ONLY way to hit fast movers like Raptors & Sabres. Once they get that squared away, I'll be on board.

Nerf your own Dino's more, don't force the rest of us to play by your personal standards. :cybereye:

Well in reality raptors and sabers would cower in fear when they saw a trex lol

Screw this. I am -not- gathering the berries to tame high level Dinos by hand.

umm stego's tail is a aoe, its a tail side to side. also doing what u said makes it unblanced. its a game. also its alpha so dev's might change it. but i think most aoe will stay as its what makes some dino's what they are

Odd, we don't get any lag or rubberbanding at all.

Not trying to mess anything up for anybody else. I agree I didn't think about the gathering portion. That is really important. However, if the area was smaller a balance could be achieved.

It just makes no sense that my solo megladon (for example) even with my super hard settings, can kill 10 other megladons at once because he just sits there chewing hitting all of them. Trex is the same way.

Official servers are now difficulty 3.0 - See how well you fair when you come across mate level 90 rexes with mate bonus.

If you read my post, you would see that we actually have level 90 Rexes already. Ones that hit 4x as hard as normal, and have double resistance as normal. Plus tamed pets are a lot weaker. Fought groups of Rexes already with Mate Boost.

You should never be fighting a T rex without a Pet unless you are trying to tame one. This post was about pets, not people.

Dinosaurs in real life had an AOE attack.. a Brontos tail swing for example would hit anything in the path of the tail.. Any dino that uses their tail would be an AOE.. So in a sense its realistic..

So why shouldnt that be in game?

You are 100% correct. I'm fine with AOE attacks on say a bronto or stag. However the AOE affect is far to big on Rexes, Carnes, Sharks, and Trikes.

turtles too. unless they give them the ability to do a weak hind leg kick their ass shouldnt be biting me.
