Raptor or Sabertooth?

So just curious what is better? why do we get to make raptor saddle at 15 and saber at 45 but they seem the same?? lol

saber, faster, more stamina, higher damage and dosn't make an annoying sound.

saber = metal hatchet
raptor = metal pickaxe

Therefore, a saber is better at getting materials, while a raptor is better at getting meat. Sabers are faster, stronger, and more hp than raptors however.

The biggest advantage of the raptor is it's only a small downgrade from the sabre...but trains way faster. Have one for backup/throwaway in case you lose your kitty.

Raptors are actually faster, stat-wise. The carry weight default is only 150, however, so you generally end up slowing it down if you are geared even half-decently. Throw a few point into its weight and keep it empty of anything but food and it outruns a saber easy.

The saber is the best way for ground travel, runs for ever and re-builds stamina fast. Can also take down a t rex or spino. Gathers mega chitin/keratin which you will need more than anything in the later game.
I've lost a few to brontos though so be careful.
Raptor is probably better in caves and you wont have to cry when your best cat falls in lava

saber are faster and stronger in every way than raptors. If you jump and sprint you can move REALLY fast (spam jump)

With the saber I sprint until stamina is almost depleted then just walk for a few seconds until it's back. They can sprint fast for a very long time and you don't have to be afraid of any other creatures

Thing is, they are for different levels, you are going to get a raptor and saddle before you go chasing sabers. So each has its use.

My pack of four raptors took down a Rex and then another Rex and Spino that came in for a snack with barely a dent in health, wouldn't have liked my single saber in that fight.
