Ok so if not for any other reason than asthetics ...
You don't think a Trike or Stego with saddle backs would look pretty sweet?.....
Yeah, but if they implemented it, you could craft more structures "in the field" ....
It would be like having your trusty steed, plus a couple of pack horses/muels
Doubling the carry capacity? Umm, no.
Stegos and Trikes already have a great carrying capacity, there's no reason to add more.
You arn't storing your gear in the dino's tummy. The dino is carrying it is all. Think about it. Do you assume you are carrying 25 trank arrows in your tummy when it's sitting in your inventory? Of course not. The dinos are no different. You have use your imagination. Like You have two quivers holding trank and reg arrows. You got a bundle of fiber in a backpack. IDK how you are carrying 200 wood but you are... lol
What would be neat is if they added some skins to respresent what you are story and how full the dino is just by looking at it. Like have the items represented in stacks on the dino. piles of wood slung over the sides of a Mammoth. or an Anklio pulling a sled full of stone. It would have to be non-collision skins though, like pipe/cable, so you just run thru it.
But don't get your hopes up, that's a lot of work and they got enough on their plate already.
Sorry but your wrong, I am not sure if we are in the matrix or using some serious alient tech. But everything is stored in our Implant. That is why we hold it up and project it into our faces like we do. Moving around our inventory and whatnot.
Its like the matrix when you just download karate, or download the knowledge of how to make an auto turret. Its all there in the implant, and we are storing items there, you aren't upgrading your physical strength when you increase carry weight, you are upgrading your implants capacity for things.
Similarly you will hear people saying "Don't add new weapons, just put more points into melee Dmg if you want more power"
Doubling their carry weight may not be best idea, but Perhaps giving the backpack/Saddlebags 4-5 slots with no carry weight on them. Or Items you put in those slots are reduced in their carry weight by 10%. Something like that.
How much a dino can carry is based on weight, not the size of a bag on its back.
A different type of bag on the saddle isn't going to make the dino stronger, so the OP's idea doesn't really work.
