Moving Dinos Accross The Sea
I run a server which is basically just for me and my boyfriend, and i saw this streamer living on this island off shore so i went and found it and now i want to live there but i already have some dino's and i dont want to abandon them.

Ive tried building a bridge but it seems that once you get into the deep sea the pillars no longer snap properly, Is there way, cheat or otherwise to bring them accross safely?.

Any ideas appreciated :).

Incase its relevant, i have 2 trikes a parasaur and a bronto to bring over and i cant cheat destroy megladons cause i have one of those too.

From what I understand they're eventually adding boats, although I doubt they'll have anything big enough to bring a bronto. You could try taming a second megalodon so that you and your boyfriend each have one, and just swim your dinos across the ocean and fend off anything that shows up hoping to eat them? I'm not sure how effective that would be, haven't tried it myself.

if you use a cieling, you dont need a pillar for each one, 1 pillar and start building across with those cielings

cheat setplayerpos <x> <y> <z>

It also works on the dino you are riding

I had been trying this, it worked for the first stage of the bridge but once i began building to the mainland eventually i ran into what i could only describe as an abyss which took like 30 pillars each time to reach the bottom, and while it was working for a while eventually it stopped when i got to an uneven cliff face. but thanks for suggesting it, i had hoped it would see me through aswell.

I just did this, it worked for my Bronto but it lost alot of health as it spawned me like 80ft up in the air, anyway to alter that?.

If you're singleplayer, just hop on the dino and use the fly command. Fly to where you want to be... then turn off the fly.

Enter a lower (the correct) z value rather than one up in the air.

Or just swim them across, can easily take out other megas on your mega.

i would store all your items and play around with the Z axis with just your player. this way you won't lose anything.

Im alone atm unfortunately cause my BF is at the pub and the other guy we play with is US TZ :(. But thanks all for your suggestions, i did wonder if the fly command worked with dinos that does seem to be the simplest option if so.

the z-coordinate is the height.
You can see it on the admin manager or with "setplayercheat true" (or "setcheatplayer true" can never remember the sequence), but I don't know if there is an offset when riding.

Not sure why you guys are looking for difficult solutions, just ride your pet across. If there are Megs in the ocean, kill them first and then ride it across. Just make sure to keep its head above the water, sometimes you have to almost be looking straight up but its easy.

Since day 1, I've had an island base on an official PvP server. The only time I've lost a pet to crossing is when I've not had a saddle and tried to have them follow me.

Its 100x easier now they've reduced the Meg population. It use to be I'd have to kill at least 7 Megs just to cross myself.

It isnt a matter of looking for difficult solutions, i want a solution which carrys 0 risk of losing my pets.

I dont play ARK or games like ARK for the PvP, i like building, i like my pets, i dont want to lose them or even have them elsewhere on the map.

I put about 15 hours into building a bridge which would have been my prefered solution and still would be my prefered solution when they fix the snapping but ultimately it failed due to the poor structure/terrain collission system which prevents you from "anchoring" pillars or foundations in the deep sea.

My server has much increased damage, both for me and the dinos so its pretty much one hit kill, while building my bridge i was eaten by megs several times and just didnt want to risk it with my pets on what was a very long journey accross the open ocean.

Anyway thanks to everyones suggestions my pets and i made it safely to our new home without incident :) and am now setting up a new base.

Thanks everyone :).
