Leveling and Progression is too fast
For people just starting out, let's be clear, this is not necessarily the case that leveling and progression is too fast. Instead I'm referring to people part of established groups. With the right support (a narco berrying gathering network or a saddled high power carnivore carno/rex) a dedicated person can go from level 0 to 50 in a single real-life day. Simply I'm suggesting that this should not be possible.

An example idea to counter it (I'm not necessarily advocating this) are xp throttles that take into effect after x amount of xp gained over a certain y time period. Or simply reduce xp gain overall. Even without power leveling methods it's possible to gain a level or so a day, if not more if one plays more than a couple hours. This leads to a funky "race to 60" mentality which cheapens all available content before that place. This is made worse still on servers without permadeath which have no mechanic other than people getting bored to counter level inflation on any particular ARK. That said, as I mentioned above, on my hardcore permadeath server it's still very possible to go from 0 to 50 in a day.

Obviously this is still early access and will be for quite some time so quick leveling as it is now may be a feature rather than a flaw for development purposes. But, eventually this issue will have to be addressed in some method. I saw quoted the idea that overall leveling progression should maybe take around 200 hours but for some people that can be reduced by a factor of 10 given current mechanics.

Overall in my mind the game world benefits from people at the pinnacle of leveling achievement to be a rare exception and not the norm.

If you have a tribe, the 'hardcore' of this game is unimpressive. You get back all your stuff by rejoining the tribe, start 1k+ narcotics crafting then go off killing in a cave/high monster density area... and your max lvl again without too much effort.

Adding a range limit from getting exp for things like narcotics. I think its kinda silly that I can be killing in cave and watch my exp bar keep pinging from narcotics crafting back at base.

Dinos you tame go wild when you die, maybe start structure decay on building you made when alive are other possibilities.

Character progression in this game is multifaceted and thankfully not focused on the traditional "level from X to Y and you win" logic. And there's much more to do than just leveling that are very real parts of progression in this environment, like building, taming, setting up outposts and trade routes, etc. And all of that stuff has a serious grind associated with it. That a tribe is able to scale the progression benefits using more people is not really new in multiplayer gaming but thankfully in Ark you have options to not be effected by that if you do not want to be.

What I do NOT want is nerfs to the overall experience that unfairly put solo and lone wolf players against a progression wall that makes the game not even worth playing anymore, just to keep large tribes from leveling fast.

2015... And it's was already too fast. Now it's x4 and it's ridiculously too fast. Why ? Why set x4 as standard ? It makes no sense, it totally destroys the balance of the game.
