Dino transfer question

I left one server and uploaded my characer and my favorite mount, my question is, if I join a server with a lower difficulty then my previous server and then download my mount, what happens? Say dino was tamed at level 90, has leveled to 120 and I join a server where the level cap is 50, does he lose stats? I know I can download him, I checked, but between my fear of messing him up, or having an unfair pet that's 30 levels higher then possible, I haven't actually used him. However the difficulty will be going up on my new server soon and I'd love the help setting up a nice saber would provide.

By level cap, do you mean server difficulty? If so, you're dino won't lose anything (*shouldn't lose anything, but I know there was a bug a while where stats would be reset original tame stats, I haven't uploaded/downloaded anything so I can't confirm).
As long as you tamed him fairly, ie. not forcetamed in SP or on a server with boosted taming speed, it's fair game, imo.

Just an update incase anyone else cares. Stats saved just fine for transfer, had my awesome saber for a day, then after patch his stats went back to base but his levels saved. Basically he became useless till he died. A 114 level saber tooth that can't level but a few more times went back to 300ish hp and 200% damage from the 3k+ he had and 1000% damage. So you can Imagine I'm bummed since he was working. For the sake of experimenting I took screenshots of my carnis stats when I pulled him off the stone. If he ends up bugging out I'll post before and after screenshots.

this is after a server restart not a patch. i have had the same problem and even tested it i always get the dino out the ark perfect as i uploaded it then after a restart it goes back to base level as if i just made it uncon..


i think people have posted about this problem not sure.

That may be true, but I definitely looked for this info prior to the transfer, but the info wasn't readily available, hence the questions. I guess everyone is to busy complaining about things that aren't broken to help. It doesn't matter much they are just dinos, can be retamed. Will have to make sure I tame another carno before his stats revert too. Wouldn't even be a big deal if they just reset to base stats at transfer so I could relevel. It's the retention of the extra levels that actually breaks them.
