Stimberry and narcs for taming quickly!?
Many people say that the starving method is the same as the feeding constantly method to taming. I did the following to have great taming speed IMO.

First I dropped the dino I wanted to tame.
Second I fed it stimulant to lower the torpor lower the food.
Third I fed it narcos to raise torpor and lower food
Fourth I kept raising and lowering the torpor using stims and narcs to keep that fast food drop.
Finally, once the target is close to 100 food I placed all of his favorite food to eat.
Fast tame.

My question is: Does feeding stimberry affect effectiveness?

If it does not then this is my fast taming method to drop food ASAP.

Feeding narcotics or stimulants does not affect taming hunger. The devs have confirmed this. The only thing it does is update the ui faster, but it is the same rate per minute as before.

Also using narcotics, stimulants, narco berries, or stim berries will not alter effectiveness on herbivores or carnivores.

What do you mean update ui faster? Everytime I feed it one narcotic the food seems to lower faster. Please explain, thanks for the reply.

It goes .4 tics a sec. If you do something it goes .1 tic a quarter second. Something like that. Its not faster. It just goes at a proportional rate. Also stimulants are anti topor, they are for waking up dinos and people.

If you want taming effectiveness and speed, try the other threads on the topic. People spent many hours experimenting. Keep damage low, use best foods.

Thanks for the answers guys! I didn't know about the ticks.

Starving is also only effective for carnivores you plan on feeding nothing but Prime Meats to. While it's starving, go Prime hunting, when it's food gets low, throw a ton (40-50, fridges help to keep them fresh long enough if you're near an advanced enough base) of Primes on it and it will eat them all in a few seconds. It's only more effective in that Primes make it's taming efficiency drop at a lower rate, so if you're feeding it regular raw/cooked meat it won't help as much. The starving method doesn't actually make the taming go any faster (starve time vs regular taming time.)

Still looking around for an official link where the devs confirmed whether or not narcs and stims do/do not lower the taming hunger. If anyone has a link, please provide - thank you in advance!

And now you've necro'd a post for something that people have confirmed many times in the last year.

Using Stimberries or Stimulants does not speed up taming. Neither does starving an animal.

They answer the question about starvation at around 15:45

As stated above feeding stims/Narcos only causes the number to change more frequently it doesn't affect the amount of hunger actually lost.

Also the starving method doesn't decrease the amount of time takes to tame. The only advantage to the starving method is that if you are using Kibble to get a perfect tame you do not risk wasting your kibble because it takes damage from something mid way through and drop your effectiveness.
