Titanboa Can be Force Tamed
https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/61/14/24/611424b17b607216ae1872bc480b7c75.png

I was extremely curious to know whether or not the giant snake could be force tamed or even knocked out as I'm sure lots of us have been wondering. The dossier makes it seem impossible, however there is that one bit that says it would be a CHALLENGE to tame, not necessarily that it's impossible. So I went to my local game, and put in some handy cheats to help me test this without getting swarmed in the caves. When I found some snakes, I tried punching them and hitting them with rocks to knock them out. But all I ended up doing was killing them. I tried both high level and low level snakes. I found in a forum post that someone claimed dinos could be force tamed without knocking them out. So to test that I leaned over the snakes head really close, and used the force tame cheat and it worked. The only problem is it doesn’t follow me. It could just be my game glitching, but I have no idea if that means it was actually supposed to work or not. Restarting the game didn’t change the follow status as of yet. I still have not figured out how ot knock them out.

You created a thread to tell us the cheat code to tame any dino/beast works on one of the dinos/beasts in the game?

Oh baby force tame my boa, fkkkkkk yeeaaaaah.

Does it ignore your commands and slither around on it's own? If so, that sometimes happens to tamed dinos (of any kind) after using the 'forcetame' command.

It can even affect future dinos you tame the proper way by KO'ing and feeding, so if you actually play your local game you may want to revert to a backup prior to using forcetame :)

I'd been wondering if forcetame would work on the snakes, cool that it does!

Oh baby you bet it obeys your commands and slithers around.

Yep. Cause every thread I've come accross about the titanboa so far has claimed it's impossible to tame even with a cheat because they've claimed the cheat only works when something is knocked out.

No it didn't slither around. It stayed completely still, even if it wasn't on follow. That's why I'm not sure if it was a glitch or not. I've had a couple problems with a dino not following me before, but restarting the game usually fixed it.

I dunno who started this stupid rumor you gotta knock dinos out to use the forcetame command cause it is completely wrong. I NEVER knocked em out before I used it. Regarding the Boa, it was exactly the same for me. It just lies there. I guess there are no implementations at all for being a tamed pet in this one :)

If you tame anything in the caves, they freeze in place, whith cheats or without. We tried taming scops in a cave, and they froze in place, until we saddled them. I'm assuming that the dev's didn't want us to tame in caves.
I think the cheat worked on titanboa because technically, everything that is NPC is tamable, and they just make Titanboas to not pass out when you hit them to avoid taming them. But with cheats you probably can tame every NPC. It just works. BTW I saw some pics of Titanboas tamed that are outside of cave in owners bases. Did you try to lure the snakes out and them force taming them? Maybe that works? Also heard that because they are not supposed to be tamed they are still bugged and move all the time and do stuff :P

Titanoboas problem is that it doesn't have inventory. And also that it never stops once you have tamed it unless it gets stuck.

In other words as much as I love the Titanoboas it just can't be used in its current form. I really hope the devs will fix them and make them tameable without cheats. The boas are darn amazing in this game and their movement and animations are top notch. Love them <3

Has anyone tried taming it with a slingshot rather than a narcotic? It has a torpor stat so perhaps if you use slingshots it could work.

I mean slingshots inflict low damage and have 25% torpor, titanoboa at level 1 has 175 torpor.
(does holding the slingshot longer increase torpor btw? I believe it does increase damage).

No, it's impossible. Like I said even when you forcetame it the Boa just won't work. So they haven't coded him to work properly once tamed.

I've actually tamed this on my server to test it does follow you but does not sit still like the other tamed dinosm it just slithers about in circles comes at you and continues its circle or roaming in your territory, trying to ride that thing would be sick as its pretty darn sleuth like! devs give me a saddle lol

Why did you necro a thread? Are you an idiot or an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥?

Probably does not have pet AI code put into it yet. Depending on how they code it, it could be automatic, a variable, or a copy paste of the entire code for pets. Since it didn't happen, it's probably not automatic.

just a thourght, can you spawn a boa with a admin comand above ground, like say a dino pen :) and then force tame it there?
