Is prime meat jerky better than regular prime meat for taming?

you should never feed your dino's jerky for tameing. Raw Prime Meat and regular Raw Meat only. Beef Jerkey is like eating 1 peice of normal cooked meat. The real benafit is it lasts a really really long time.

Nope, not for taming.
Once tamed, cooked meat , a single stack, is a longer lasting food source for them, however
most of it rots as they stand around, just like regular meat.
Just rots slower.
Prime cooked rots even slower.
Not worth the effort though for prime to put on dinos as cooked food unless one
uses console admin cheats.

So you guys tried feeding prime meat jerky while taming? Or you didn`t but you think it`s no good. beacuse the wiki says the dinos love prime jerky. If you tried and found out it`s no good i won`t try it.

Never use cooked meat to tame. Did that once and waited FOREVER to tame a really low lvl.

It`s not cooked meat i`m asking, is prime meat jerky, which the wiki says they love.
I would like people to only reply if they tried taming with prime meat jerky, othewise you are not helping.

I've read that its just as good as cooked prime. Which makes sense. Raw prime of course is always better...I think cooking it cuts its potency by half but the benefit is obvious is how long it lasts. Thats huge considering some of the longer tame times on higher lvl dinos.

It says that about all the prime meat types.
Raw is 4x the speed, cooked 2x the speed(compared to normal raw meat), not tried jerky since i have no reason to make it.

Raw Prime 4x speed, Cooked Prime and Prime Jerky are 2x speed of normal raw meat. Also noted that Cooked and Prime Jerky dont lower the taming% near as fast as raw meat. Prime Jerky is a fairly nice way to tame Carnivores if you dont feel like always running back and forth to get raw Prime

Thanks, that helped. Maybe i'll store some prime jerky and try it out.

I keep about 20-25 Prime Jerky for when I tame a High level as a buffer while I gather Raw prime. That way it never eats Normal Raw Meat and keeps the taming% higher and tames faster.

Prime Jerky is twice as effective at taming as normal meat is. But raw prime meat is 4x as effective as regular meat. So raw prime meat is still ideal, but prime jerky can be used as your secondary meat to help the taming a little.

Raw Prime Meat > Cooked Prime Meat > Raw Meat > Cooked Meat

Personally, I have done quite a bit of taming with Prime meat Jerky, granted the lvl bonus after you tame it will not be as good as using prime meat, but I find it very useful because I can always breed to get stronger Dino's, point is, I usually bring prime jerky with me when I plan to do some taming, the biggest reason, it's hard to find a lot of prime meat and keep it from spoiling for a tame, so I use the jerky, if I see a chance to get raw prime on hand AT THE TAMING LOCATION I will get it and use it, otherwise in my opinion, prime jerky is a decent alternative to using raw meat and trying to find enough raw prime meat for a tame

Besides that you necroed a 4 year old post, that is not the ideal way to use prime meat jerky. The real solution for long lasting taming food is to go the extra mile and turn your prime meat jerky into kibble, that lasts much longer, tames faster and gets better taming efficiency.
