PvE doesn't mean everyone plays nice. In all fairness, if you thought people wouldn't steal from you when you left everything out where it could be seen, then you had WAY too much faith in humanity. My suggestion for you, if you don't want to be burgled again, is to have everything either inside a house, or empty. Keeping tons of stuff on a smithy is a bad idea, since anyone can access them to use them. My tribe is paranoid, so we keep everything behind multiple locked doors and several other security features, but just a simple house with a locked door will take care 99% of your problems.
Now, if you want to take revenge on others in PvE, there are ways... but I think I'll let you figure those out yourself. I don't want to ruin your fun.
I have to state again it seems a damn shame that we feed of each other and have to live in a paranoid environment behind locked doors :/
Oh really? Then why did I just log in and all my stuff was stolen from inside my house as well as outside? I lock my door, and pin code my storage. You know what if I leave it outside then yes it is my fault, but if it is my locked house there should be no one allowed into it except who I let in.
