Underwater wall

So me and my tribe are building a wall underwater so we can keep our water animals safe the problem is that when we place the gate there is a big gab above it.

i cant place walls on top of the gate and i cant build fences.

anyone else having the same problem?
and if you know how to build above a gate plz tell me :D

use pillars, make usre u place the pillar in the position you want your cielings to go.. This is how my tribe and I secured our cave... we put a behemoth gate at the entrace, but there was still a gap they could swim down in... position a pillarawa behind the gate, build up to desired heigh, then use cielings / ramps / catwalks to do the final closing. You can also put a spike wall at the top of the cieling once your done, if thers small gaps you are unsure of
