Report a translation problem
of range of that closest outlet.
If it is not a outlet range issue, it must be some goof bug that may require
you to install a new fridge .
Like sometimes the smithy acts stupid, and people fix by destroying it and rebuilding a new one. I've read that one before but never
had it happen to me yet.
Where my Fridge is placed currently, when I placed it a wire appeared that goes from the Fridge to the nearest outlet. about 3' away. This should be an indication that I've got an electrical connection. Yes? Thanks!
Have you tried turning off the genny then turning it back on (seriously that has worked sometimes.)
Other than that you have to remake a few things and replace them (which also fixes bugs sometimes.
For anyone else scratching their heads, notes on electrical:
When placing a generator and wiring, note that the cable must be connected to the small side of the generator, not the large spinning side.
If the electrical connection is good, then the wire turns yellow and outlets have a blue pulsating light.
These lines can be run in the floor/ceiling, but are hard to see when doing this.
If the appliances is placed close enough to an outlet, a wire will appear connecting it to the electrical line.
Straight (horizontal) electrical lines appear to only like to go in one direction, to make a 90° turn a junction wire will be needed.
some times the problem is you can't see if its green because you can place it in general or if its green because you can snap it.
I built over on herbavor island, i managed to get power in the entire bowl and not a single cable is above ground. I was able to do the same with almost all of my pipes. In all honestly your better off just using intersections when you can't see the wire. then you almost always get a snap point.
what you can also do is attempt to snap a vertical section of wire every so often to your underground wires, if you power the genny the wire will turn yellow, the same thing occurs with irrigation pipes, ones with a valid water source are blue tint.
One thing you can try to do is go into placement mode, then hit K to enter the orbital cam, zoom out as much as possible and try to clip though the ground plane, then you can see if you have existing cables placed correctly.
