Whats the Point of Planting Seeds?
I could never figure out why their is farming (planting of berries, etc) when there is a very large amount of fauna which can be harvested on a regular basis.

Now if the respawn times were once in a Twenty Four Hour period (real time) sure I can see the benefit, but the way it is now you just turn your back, and you have tons of plants to harvest once more.

I have played this game for a long enough time to see that the plots, irrigation just isn't required.

It feels like it's just there so it can answer a question from players as to why they can't plant the seeds they have in their inventory.

Exactly which plants would those be?

You would have to get the seeds from a plant that you can harvest on a regular basis.

@ Mycroft- Well you've been harvesting for a while. Which plants have you not found that you seem to have seeds for?

:D

Prolly those seeds you've been throwing away while harvesting your known berries.

There's the convenience of walking out your front door, gathering a few hundred narcoberries and making narcos instead of taking your trike out to gather. Also, as Nate said, there are some items (like rockarrots and savoroots) that can only be acquired this way. The irrigation is also nice as an added water source.

noooooooooooooooooooo your assuming you know everything......................slow down and learn.

The seeds you get from certain plants are all those plants give, not the actual fruits or berries.

Then you plant those seeds to get the fruits and berries.
There are lot of these. Unfortunately i forgot their names lol. Its like citron-something and Savageroot or something like that (about 5 of these) all of them must be planted in medium plots tho. Also, if you plant narcos which are rare and if you have like 2 plots, youll get enormous amounts compared to just spamming E in fauna (needs to have fruitlings of course). Also in patch notes for todays 182 they say: "Crop plot yields increased 50% and max # of crop items on them increased by 300%" so itll gets much better and youll benefit from it. Especially if you have lot of crop plots :)

I... don't think that's right unless they've just changed it.
