Ichthyosaurus
Oh wow these little things... My impression is mixed. The ichthyosaurus has been both a gigantic amount of fun and a source of deep depression and frustration. There's a lot to say so I'll go through the list chronologically.
First we will start with taming the little demons, the ichthyosaurus provides and new way to tame things passively and overall I have found it more effective and more interactive than the usual way. Taming effectiveness is higher and I do feel more attached to what I've tamed than what I felt after filling something full of arrows and shoving food in its mouth. A few complaints about taming them is that I can't actually get one to stay still or stop moving, I have almost drowned several times trying to get one xD. I understand it's wild but maybe having them stick close would be nice? Speaking of sticking close, other ichthyosaurus will bombard me for food as I tame a single one, this constant flow of ichthyosaurus causes me to often lose meat to something I wasn't planing on taming. Now this isn't horrible and makes taming passively as much of an effort as taming regularly is, but again can some times be to much, but that's all my complaints about taming other wise I enjoyed it.
Second is riding the ichthyosaurus. To my understanding many players just say dolphin when referring to the ichthyosaurus (honesty who actually says it correctly? Or can type it 100% of the times it is said in this post, it is copy pasted :P) and they seem to act like them, so riding them should be similar. Currently a player sits on its head to ride one around, and to me this seemed off. Why not just grab on to its dorsal fin and ride that way? But it's a minor visual complaint. Actually riding one is ridiculously fun and they are so fast that dealing with megladons is just an issue of circling and nipping at them (why wild ichthyosaurus don't do that beats me... YOU WONT WIN IN A HEAD FIGHT LIL BUDY!) but the complain lies in the fact that they instantly die if they go out of water. This wouldn't be an issue if they didn't beach themselves when set to follow or bugged out of the water. An oxygen meter on them actually makes sense. They seem small enough for an argentavous to pick up and carry away, and an oxygen meter would show how much time it would have to get back to the water. (Now typing that it seems like a bad idea for argents to be able to pick them up, maybe in own tribe only for transport?)
But yeah that's my overview of the ichthyosaurus and my slight issues with them otherwise they are really fun and I enjoy them a lot...

PS. Two more things
1 I've already blown through 9 of them due to them dying so easliy
2 can someone tell me how to say the freaking name?

the only problem i've had with them is if they fight something without a rider. they seem to take off at their sprint speed to get a running (really fast swimming?) start for an attack, get too far and then just sit out in the water waiting for you to find them in the ocean. the ocean is vast and if you've only got one, good luck finding the little guy.

Had this happen while taming another Ichthy while in the middle of the ocean. hopped off to feed a much higher level one, didn't notice the mega swimming at me, got bit, my ride swam off and left me to die... didn't like him anyways *snifs*
