Parasaur not worth it :/
Well, maybe it is maybe it isn't, depending on how and what you use them for. I tamed my first one yesterday as I heard they have good stamina and run for ages. I find them too slow to really benefit from the stamina as my raptor is sooo much faster and I can get to places quickly in short bursts then rest while I scout.

Do you guys use para's much or use a different dino combo?

I'd also like to know if there is some sort of dino stat chart that shows how much different attributes increase for diffenret dinos and how to spec them if anyone knows :D

I only tamed the Para to see what the saddle skin looked like...
Speak for yourself, my parasaur hauls ass. I can outrun pretty much anything on the island.

I meant that at 45, you can mount Sabers, which have the inherent ability to gather more keratin//chitlin than raptors. therefore, Sabers supersede raptors in every way once you can mount them; and your attack pack should be sabers for that extra keratin/chitlin harvest; as that is used to make cement paste.... which you need in Bulk.

So, at 45, raptors kinda suck... decent base guards; but can ultimately be replaced... I prefer the sabers from a PVP standpoint as well, cuz they are a little harder to see coming, and from far away. Raptors are pretty easy to spot, and are so damn twitchy (when wandering) that they become easy to see.

don't get me wrong, I have an all black raptor with white feathers that I would shed a single tear if I lost him; but hes a trophy.... I don't use him anymore, he watches my metal hut.

that's really what I mean... they aren't useless; just not As useful.

Ah cool, completely understandable then! I got a saber recently and I've been running around with him and 4 raptors in tow for ultimate kill power but totally didn't put two and two together for having more sabers for more farm (when they inevitably all attack at once and the first hit kills the thing and the other 3 hit it and harvest it ><). We just tamed a second Saber last night and got mate boosted so I'm sure I will move on to the saber pack, raptor pack SO cool though! *single tear* Also for sure on the harder to see coming, I find it extremely amusing running through a forest, downhill, and jumping off rocks when I hit their peak.....so.....good!

When I hope on I'll take a look.
It's not always about having what's best; sometimes it's just having what you like. :) I like that even the "less useful" dinos have saddles. Perhaps its someone's favorite species!

My turtle isn't fast, but my husband made me a saddle for him and I waddle him everywhere I go. He's adorable!

Not to say that I wont get myself a Carno as soon as I can find one of those little buggers...

Yes, it depends on what you use them for, some dinos are good all round and that can come in more useful in some cases than a pure damage dino or high speed one.
So, I think in conclusion; the answer is:

Yes, they are worth it, until they aren't. Otherwise it boils down to choice.

yay sandbox!
Rather oddly, parasaurs become much slower when you tame them, even accounting for weight. I think they're useless.

I use spino for meat and leather gathering, ankylosaurus for berry gathering(even nerfed it's far better than hand picking) and a pulminscorpius for knocking dinos out

I really like paras. You can run them forever and while you can't necessarily outrun a raptor you absolutely can out-swim one. Chased by a raptor head over to the nearest river and your raptor problem vanishes immediately. They also double as reasonable pack animals. They're just a really good all-around and versatile mount.

They are good for food and that is it....same with the Phiomia....hide and meat. Although the Phiomia can be an alright pack mule early on.
Paras and Phiomia will be good in the future.
When the non lethal Taming will be full implented you can tame the para with a handfull of berries for a slow scout dino. Phiomias will be the first mule if they don't run away.
So you can tame it easly at start. Like the ichtis for water exploration.

In the moment the Paras are good for only one thing... fertilizer.
Phiomias are good for nothing execpt food.

If there will be a breeding system and that is fact form devs that it will be...
the Phiomias will get to be a good source of meat.

I have three raptors, all three have a speed stat of 120 and two have 180 stamina, the third has 240.

My Parasaur has a speed stat of 267.2 with 280 stamina.
