How to pronounce "Chitin"

I have not heard one person say this correctly it seems, I have heard it said like "cheatin" & "chit-in" but apparently its said kiting...

Most folks read a word and try to make sense of it, which can lead to them mixing their own accent with english and thereby essentially creating a new "word".

THis is the word in my Language (Danish) = kitin.
Therefore I pronounced it "Kaytin".
But when I first saw the word in Ark I actually pronouced it "tji-tin" as "Ch" often is used as "tj" in english. (Like Cheating).

However, when I found out that Chitin is the same as Keratin I knew that the word must be "Kitin" (In my tongue).
When I mixed the word with english accent it became "Kaytin".
Didn't know if it was right or not... Apparently it was :D

I wouldn't worry about it I'm English it's the only language I speak and I'm with Vesuvious.

It's sh*t tin just because thats how my regional accent works even though I know the correct pronunciation.

I don't know why people get so upset about it, we all know what everyone means.

Even Keith Lemon knows the correct way to say it.
