So i jumped off my Pteranodon while i was flying now stuck..
So i was flying my Pteranodon last night and accedently pressed E and well i jumped off :-( and after i landed i tried to get back on it but its in the sky how do i get it back as if i press any keys to call it to me it dosnt work so anybody know how in hell i get it??

Did think about shooting it with a tranq arrow but i dont know so thought id ask.

Copy pasting one of my answear to another one with this problem:

Build a foundation under it with lots of ladders and then use J command to make him follow you or ask someone you trust and trusts you to unclaim their flying dino to get it down.

My ingame neighbour ptera was stuck like that in the air high up and he borrowed mine to get it down.

Get another flying mount go near it then try the follow whistle. however if you can see it and the floating name text did you try whistling with J and not T. The J whistle has a much much larger range on it.

my guess is if he can peg it with tranq arrows as he was thinking of trying he is in range for J whistle, There is a chance he is just trying the single target whistle of T that has a much shorter range

I never thought of that cheers will give it a try

As said its way in the sky i was mad at myself as just before that happened i was flying my other Pteranodon and didnt keep a eye on its stamina and well it kicked me off and i died so was trying to get my gear back instead i messed up again so yeah not happy with myself

Doubt it (He has 160h in the game and should know of J), you can fire those arrows quite far. I think my response is better, build a foundation beneath it with ladders, climb up, press J. Safer that way.

I tried all the call commands last night and nothing i know im way to far away but will try build ladders upto it then see if i can find my other one while im doing it cheers all

thats alot of wood lol n i want one of them birds only saw them the first couple of days play now dont see them at all

Not that much! Just bild a tatch foundation and then ladders ontop of it. A ladder costs only 4 wood. :)

lol but when u look at that theres alot of ladders so guessing a few but shouldnt be too hard to get tbh just a pain..

Also if one runs out of stamina does it land or keep flying?? as i have a idea where i died last night just not sure if it would of landed or stayed in the sky

A trick when this happens is to quickly tap J as you fall. assuming you know where it is, then it's just a matter of whistling again since it'll be much lower than if you hadn't whistled while falling.

Thank you for this comment / tip. It took like 70 ladders but I was able to retrieve my bird. Would never have thought to do this. I was lucky though because I reached max ladders and had to stand at the very top and the whistle reached him. Then I fell and somehow lived with 1 health. Got my bird back though!
