My server suggests 200+... or just make lazerous stew.

At 200, I could dive down to said caves, but could not survive the megaladon swarm chasing after me once I got nearby. You really need the Lazerous Stew, and 1-3 megaladons (with at least 1 saddled) to get anywhere underwater at the moment.

I feel good with 200 + Lazerous Stew

yeah 200 is fine if you got the foods, without you'll need like 500 to do it and be on a mount. It's dangerous to take Mega's down there though due to airbubbles killing them instantly....but something like a turtle or sarco is good for an all round mount and defender.

200 is good for getting down to caves with a good buffer reserve or air. But you better find the cave and get the air pocket because you won't have enough air for the return trip otherwise. So you'd better have a GPS or be looking at the surface cave bubbles before you dive....if you don't have Lazerous

You don't need Mega's at all lol. turtles and Sarcos have no oxygen level so they don't need to breathe and they won't be insta killed by air bubbles. It's actually better to take one of them over a mega

When you find the cave. park your megaladon and swim in yourself, otherwise your megaladon will beach and you're screwed

with Stew, eh, I'd still suggest 120. Without stew, 200 will barely get you to most sea floors and back up again without suffocating @ 100% movement speed. Leaves no time for looking around, but eh, doable I suppose.

Trick is to balance movement speed (and yes, that includes your swimming speed) with breath a bit. 150% movement and 200 breath and no Dino I get to the bottom, have about 20 seconds to look around, and back up again without issue. Better of course on a sea Dino.

Great point. Now that they fixed the dive rates (I only have a megaladon but I believe they did for sarcos as well) a sarco would definitely be preferable for that reason

Tested:
130% Movement speed and 130 oxy
vs
100% Movement and 300 oxy.
Oxygen= swim speed, as the 300 oxy seems like sprinting compared to the 130% speed.
Just trowing this in.

Interesting, you're saying increasing your Oxygen stat actually increased your swimming speed?
Splize Jun 30, 2015 @ 1:51pm
without lazarus chowder id say 300 is perfect i dive with 300 and can stay down for awhile with the chowder you dont need any points in air as bar hardly moves at all with the chowder running

Yes
Unless the full flak armor somehow has hidden stats.

170 + lazarus can stay down about 400. sec. more than enough to clear my 2 favorite non cave pearl spots and one "oil" field in one dive. if nearby cave isnt cleared i go in there aswell, and voila. full o2 again, faster that, stay until laza has 50 seconds left and ascend :D going to cliock it tomorrow.
Right now. cant even play the fkn game because all of the devs "bugfixing" going to play tomorrow when they patched 5 more times to fix the bugs they supposed to fix and made 50 new ones :D

I have 120 Oxy, the Lazarus Stew and a leveled Megalodon and could farm loads of oil and pearls even before the Mega Aggro nerf. On max Difficulty.

Im pretty experienced since i have been doing this for a time now. If you just want to get to the cave and you know exactly where it is then you would only need 100 oxigen and go straight down with your mego. If you want to explore and dont really know where the caves are a little bit more than 200 oxigen would be ideal. Id really recommend getting a mego since it helps you kill nearby megalodons. If you just swim there you are going to die most likely before you get to the cave.
