Make Phiomia Useful
Currently Phiomia is the most pointless mount.

Parasaurolophus is fast, good in the water, mediocore at berry collecting
Trike is bulky, a strong fighter, and good berry farmer, but slow
Stego is excellent berry farmer, and good hauler, good fighter, but again kinda slow
Ankylosaurus and Mammoth both bulky and good fighters, and both specialise in harvesting stone/flint/metal (in Ankys case) and wood (in mammoths case)
Bronto is just a beast for hauling and harvesting berries, but very slow

....poor Phiomia is useless, yes its the first mount but its pointless to invest in phiomia over a Parasaur.

if Phiomia harvested 70% fiber, 30% berries it would be a useful mount for much of the early game. Please devs make it happen

...after all the dossier does support the Phiomia being a fiber farmer.....

No, phiomia is meant to be a starter mount from what I can tell. It's really there for people at low levels who want something faster than a trike and (I'm not 100% sure on this since I only used a phiomia for like an hour) slightly better at weigh cap than a para. Other than that they are tameable happymeals. Why make a cheeseburger more than a cheeseburger? :P

+1 to those who recognize the mighty fast food.

While I wish for the phiomia to be more useful in terms of berry/fiber collection, one shouldn't discount how effective it is in combat. With a saddle on, I was quite capable of taking on dilos, raptors, carnotaurs, scorps and even those bloody feathered bastards. They have so much health early on it's stupid. Then again, catching one, let alone taming one early on is a nightmare.

Was this on a public server? I'm thinking you might be winning from server desync and enemy dinos having issues hitting you. I've seen one of our Phios with 3-4 levels in health die to a carno in like 5 seconds...

Does anyone know how often they poop?

I'm questioning the HEALTH. The saddle does add armor, but not that much. Unless you had a high level phia and a low level Carno I don't see taking the hits from a carno with a saddle making any real difference in the longevity of the fight. The Phio should still get wrecked. Though you didn't answer my question of the server type. I'm actually curious if this is viable, or a product of official server latency issues. I've met several people on my new server that couldn't deal with it being so much smoother than official servers. The lack of the latency makes death WAY easier on smooth server; which may account for the differences in our experience.

Phiomia is very useful early game especially in hardcore. It helps you get to higher level by preventing you from being killed by Carno/Dilios. When I have 4x Phiomia, I can easily kill rex without problem. Good balance of tankiness, melee damage and weight.

Phiomia is a great early game mount, they're very tanky and decent packmules.

People need to consider the entire level curve when thinking about mount balance, not just how useful a mount is to a lvl 65 who can tame anything.

All I want to know is are they good at being farmed at just meat and has anyone done it for just that purpose? What I mean is can I breed them as meat stock?

You can't breed anything.

I think the key there is "People need to consider". People don't think about relative usefulness in general. The Phiomia is the Walkman of the Ark game. When you're top tiered it's useless, but back in the day when everything was new it was something awesome and useful to own. Same with the slingshot, the Dilo(unless making massive Dilo armies), hide armor, the parasaur(really who uses these past level 55?), the OG spear/hatchet/pick, anything thatch etc. Things that a level 1 finds useful will not be the things a max level char finds useful and it needs to be that way. Why else would you level up? No progression means no goals, which makes a game no fun. Could you imagine starting skyrim maxed level with all skills and weapons? No challenge. That trusty steel war axe of badassitude when you were level 5 is useless in that game once you start getting dwarven/orcish/ebony/etc. No one complains about it in Skyrim, yet people don't take that into account in these games. I'm not sure why.

As of now? No. Soon to come? Yup. Breed em, club em, cook em, and eat em.
Pecking order.
