Parachute not working

Been looking for a topic or someone mentioning it, but I can't find it.
When I use a parachute it kills me. Either I crash into the ground as usual (I opened it 20 seconds before the crash) and I tried again from high enough moving forward. I was flying normally and then suddenly I was dead on the ground. 1 second I was still high in the air, the next, dead on the ground.

Any idea what this is? How to solve it?

Same thing happened to me when I used a parachute. I was really high in the sky when i used the parachute and on my end it showed me floating down. About 15 seconds later I was suddenly on the ground. I don't know if it makes a difference, but I did fire a gun while I was in the air.

I've had this happen a few times too. I have a base on the mid east coast and one on a north eastern mountain. I've jumped from the North to the East only one successfully (first attempt).

Every time after that, I bug out near the end of my flight. This last time I was well above the tree lines and in a split second I was on the ground dead. Before that I've had the parachute just fall fast near the end of my run. It was like I didn't have a parachute except the parachute icon was on and that was after slowly gliding for a few minutes.

Yep don't rely on a parachute. I fell off my bird once with a glitch and used a parachute and nothing happened. Just hit the ground and died.

Same here, i tried the parachute once and as soon as i touched the ground i was dead..

This problem's still reaping lives...
I just fell down my argentavis, opened half second my missclicked E, slow fell, hit the groung, dead.
Obviously it was 10pm and the night begun just before my respawn :/ (but that's another problem and not the point)
