Metal Tools Durability?
Does anyone else feel that the durability of metal tools should be increased? It seems to me that besides gathering slightly more resources, metal tools break at the same speed as stone which in my opinion should not be the case, especially due to the fact that you cannot repair them on the fly like you can stone tools so there needs to be some added benefits besides gathering slightly more resources.

I feel that metal tools should have at least double the durability of stone tools to make them worthwhile.

Anyone else feel the same?

They just need to make them gather faster or make our % melee damage increase materials aquired. Right now it feels like as a strong character I get less materials from gathering.

I agree, I can understand stone tools breaking easily, they are meant to be starter tools, and they are made of stone.

Metal tools take a lot longer to make, and they are made of metal. When I am chopping down trees IRL I can chop for hours and hours and never need to repair my axe. Heck, even sharpening it doesn't need to happen all that often.

Yeah dude, granted the devs probably dont want it so one metal axe lasts forever and ever, that would ruin the game, however the should defiently last at least twice as ling as a stone tool if not longer

I don't mind the durability atm of metal tools.
They just need to be able to Gather more in that period to make sense compared to stone tools.

Granted, I wasn't thinking they should last forever, just giving validation to why they should last a bit longer.

Things should last in relation to how long it took to make them. If it takes 3-5 hours to make something, that something should last 6-10 hours at the very least, imo.

As I feel the metal tools last at least 3 times longer than stone tools, and gather 2~4 times more resources from one node, combined together is a 10~ gain compared to stone tools

How would unbreakable tools ruin the game?

Someone would knock your lovely wooden house into pieces with only one unbreakable metal axe.

Better recipes have better durability, they are also easy and cheap to fix and gather much more resources. No need to change them.

Agree to some extend, but it need to be balanced to all other variables in the game too.

But they do last to short IMO. DEVs, let them last 3x the stone tools.

You win. I didn't think about that.

Steel tools are an improvement towards stone tools, but you want them to last at least a day in game. Instead of packing 3 of each.

I found out that there is a Quality level on tools (Primitive, Survival, ... , adescendant), sometimes found at blueprints. Can't this quality level not be linked to a personal stat like 'crafting speed'? The better the stat, the better the newly crafted tool.
