KOS?

So how bad is it on this game? is it just as bad as dayz, rust, and all the other survival games out there?

Or do people actually help each other kind of like life is feudal?

On PvP servers. Most Likely KoS or Kill at Offline. (there might be the occasional exception)
On (unofficial) PvE Servers it's actually fun to play.

In my experience it depends on how many you encounter.

If you run into one person that person will take off 9/10 even if you are solo yourself.
But if you run into two or more people, they will attack you 9/10 - though might speak first.

However, if you plan to meet someone through chat, usually they won't attack.

In my experience the vast majority are friendly and only one or two tribes will go across the whole map killing and raiding everything.
Watch out for the really high tier bases though, I had one neighbor tribe who had a huge metal base and he was friendly at first but one day just went hostile out of nowhere and started killing my dinos.
Power seems to get to peoples heads and they try to stop anyone else from getting just as big, so stay away from those guys.

So far for me if you talk when approaching someone its fairly friendly, only ever had 2 lv 4's try attack our trike we were taming so we took them out, but usually its not KoS, but that's just been my experience.

It's a survival game so you will get a lot of kill on sight. I would say more so at release.

i usually find that people tend to be quite friendly, every server has its bad guys. but in my experiance, 20% maybe, will KOS, compared to dayz where 97% will try to KOS, it is very freindly. saying that, it does depend on the server you choose.

With this game it seems its a toss up if they will kos. I'd say its not a s bad as rust/dayz, but I won't say it won't happen. it also depends on the server. If you are worried about KOS there are plenty of PVE only servers and PVE servers will soon have Tribal War feature where tribes can declare war on each other if they agree to it so one could still have some pvp action. I'm thinking of switching my server to PVE for this feature alone and have the server a tribal war/faction warring server. That way one doesn't have to worry about offline griefing, brings people together and in my mind, will make for much larger and more fun skirmishes b/w tribes.

Private PvP servers tend to be more friendly, I wouldn't be put off of the game just because the official servers draw a certain type of person. It's really a good thing if you think about it, keeps them away from the good private ones.

Never found a player that kossed me on sight but when offline, people will be lurking around your base trying to kill you and steal all the ♥♥♥♥

Find a good unofficial server. They tend to have friendlier communities on them. My server is unofficial and while there is PvP it isn't KoS or noob stomping.

I kill on sight whoever i see except my own friends, i destroys any base i see while its midnight in real life. runs away when people are online so ill wait a few hours before attacking, lure their dinos to the walls so their dinos heads gets glitched and just spam pikes to kill their dinos

Thats not all survival is, not in a populated world with other humans, sry your view is very narrow and naive. Yes surviving in a barren world your main concerns are as you put, shelther, water, food, and WEAPONS!. As a starving man is no more than a smarter beast, and if his survival means to take from another he will do so, and will become easier to do the closer to the brink of death he gets.

If society collapsed for whatever reason, those 4 things would be essential, some would use it in defense others just as we have murders and gangs now, would likely turn into marauders or vikings of old. Roaming killing and pillaging from others. Those who have will need to defend themselves those who have not will look to ally themselve with those who have, or take from those who have. Some people will band together where others will be less trusting and may give a warning before killing a passing stranger, others for fear of discovery/theft/rape/killed/take prisoner/etc would kos.

Survival is so much more if there are other humans around and even if you are the only human alive one would still need weapons (whether it be fire what have you) to defend yourself from any hostile creatures that look to harm you.
