Herbivore dmg = more Berries?
So... if I skill my Stego full on dmg, does it increase the amount of Berries I´ll get per swing?

I'm not certain but I think its determined by level.
I tamed two mammoths and the one thats twice the level seems to get noticably more resources but only has 3% more melee damage.

yes, and the amount is quite noticable, so dont bother to put some levels into meele-damage of a herbivore.

I'd rather recommend to put it into a stego's weight carrying capacity. Even at default melee strength it is already harvesting so many berries with two tail swings while standing in a spot with thick bamboo, that you spend most of your time throwing out the unwanted berries from his inventory.

Some have claimed that the harvest area gets larger with more melee damage but I don't know if that is true or not.

More inventory even more unwanted berries ;)
The melee-dmg increases the amount of berries per bush, so you need to farm less on any dino to get the same amount.

But generally depends on your playstyle and what you want to achieve.

Question is what you want to do with so many berries except for becoming a happy berry-millionaire :) I so rarely need to replenish my stock, that it doesn't really matter if my stego requires two or three tailswings to provide me with another supply to tame five more dinos.

I use my tricera to make narcotics. ^_^

@Sperber, in the particular case of a stego i agree with you. There would be more use for higher weight since its a great carrier.
On a mammoth (wood-farming) on the other hand i would advice to go for melee dmg and "just in time" production to lower the needed weight.
