ADMIN TALK: How to turn off steam names in the HUD, Chat, and Death Messages.
This is a serious annoyance for a lot of people. Unless I am missing something...I would very greatly appreciate an option to use ONLY character names on servers. Having steam names visible all the time is a hassle for players and admins alike. The only people who need to see Steam names are the admins and we have a player list with a STEAM64ID number so the name doesnt even matter. I hope that in this weeks update to admin commands we are able to control this functionality to better customize our server for the experience our playerbase and administrators are looking for. Thanks for reading.

Agreed.
IT should be optional on the client side however and
if one wants to spot check what character name is associated with a specific
Steam Account it should be a easy thing to check by the client user.

If someone is being obnoxious enough in chat and voice coms in game,
and I want to ignore them, it should be based on
Steam ID.

There is another game that has the annoying habit of obliterating player names
in favor of system lo-gin names and that is Diablo 3.

We make characters , many of us, for RP purposes. With limited customization
we use the names to help distinguish what the character is.

I really don't wan to see Steam ID's as player names. Just give me the power to unmask
the characters Steam ID when I need to do so.

This. Also admins are having a lot of trouble pvping like normal players without the whining in global as to why the admin killed them or some false accusation of admin abuse.

Random adding or harasment. Also Admins cant really play the game as it is right now. People are either crying abuse or getting butt hurt about losing and move to another server where "the admins arent mean." Admining successfully already takes plenty of play time away and at the end of the day you can't even PvP because everyone gets their feelings hurt.

Please show us the server you admin on with 40+ pop that you also PVP on and no one cry Admin Abuse when you pvp.

Otherwise, gtfo.
