Resource Respawn Period Slider
Does anyone know which way to move the slider for local games to speed up the respawn time for resources?

left is to decrease the value right is to increase the value.

Sorry, still confused. By increase the value do you mean speed up respawn time or increase the period of time it takes to spawn, therfore taking longer?

Same question here.
increase = faster spawn or it will be increase period between spawns?

Good questions, although these values are currently not working in local play, they cap at 3.0 after the last few patches, but still... I would like to know, what speeds it up, what slows it down.

It is a period multiplier, so a lower value will make the period smaller. So a lower value will make resources respawn faster. If you set 0 as value, resources will instantly respawn as soon you leave the area where they are.

I set the value to 0. No resource respawn (other than pebbles on the beach). However, the T-Rex's are respawning in the same place rather quickly now....

What he said.

Slide it to the left for a lower number thus shorter time between respawns, to the right for a larger number and thus longer time between respawns.

Have mine set to .1 in SP and I can chop a tree down, walk a few hundred yards, come back, and its respawned.

Don't forget to get far enough of the resources, They won't respawn directly on you.
For the T.Rex, you are just unlucky, that slider seems to have no affect on dinos respawn.

From using Ark Server's Manager. There is a separate slider for dino spawning. Thereforer, resources and dinos are on two separate spawning mechanics.

And if what was stated is true... I've been setting it wrong for my own personal server. I increased the resource respawn slider to 3.0 on the assumption that is what made them respawn faster. Will set it back to 0.5 once I get back.

I do not use Ark server's Manager. Be careful, perhaps the slider of this software works in a other way!
In my case, ResourceRespawnPeriodMultiplier is set to 0 , and resources respawns instantly when I leave the area where they were. (approx. 100 meters away.)

I can a) confirm that lower values indeed translate into faster respawns (0 for instant) and

b) confirm that dino spawns are absolutely affected by resource respawns.

I agree for a). But are you sure about b) ? I can't see any difference on dinos respawn between a respawnperiod= 10000 and a respawnperiod = 0 .

From the wiki:
"Specifies the scaling factor for the respawn rate for resource nodes (trees, rocks, bushes, etc.). Higher values cause nodes to respawn more frequently. "

From the page:

People on the thread seem to be saying the opposite? Or am I just over tired again :/

I have only just started messing with local settings, specifically the resource respawn slider. I was inspired to do so upon discovering that If you harvest something and log before it respawns, it never will.

It certainly seems that a LOWER value on the respawn slider means quicker respawns, i.e. resources will respawn faster at .5 than at 1.0. In simpler terms, the further to the left the resource respawn slider is, the faster things respawn.

I've noticed this mistake too, but I don't know how to edit on the wiki.
It's a mistake! Infact a lower value will make resources to respawn more frequently.

Evilwuun, you are totaly right! In singleplayer, resources will NEVER respawn if they didn't respawned before you "log out". I hope that will be fixed. I don't know if this issue occurs in a dedicated server though.
