How to paint armor and weapons?

Make dye, drag dye to item

when you make your paint...drag it over top of the armor

Make dye in a cooking pot by boiling berries and charcoal
Red Blue Yellow - 15 of corresponding berries + 2 charcoal
Green Orange Purple - 9 and 9 of R,B,Y + 2 charcoal

Pick up the dye, look at things, some will be highlighted green. Sure you can figure it out from there.
