Why do walls not place in the direction you are facing
Devs REALLY need to make it so that the wall ALWAYS places with the inside facing you. This would make building walls, which is MASSIVE pain in the ass, 10x easier.

Actually not just walls all building pieces

I have not had trouble with the facing so far, because the facing is "snaped" to it's neighour which is 99.9% of the time exactly what you want: The same orientation than the piece next to it. Else the default orientation is the outward is towards the outside related to the foundation which again is fine for another 99 % of the time. The remaining 1% you are probably building walls within a building... again make sure the first wall is facing correctly... looking closely you can see the orientation before clicking.

I would like ramps to actually reflect 1 wall piece in terms of height up/down. I've just had to rebuild an entire floor/ceiling so the ramp going up would fit.

We should be able to rotate things like ceiling/floor/wall tiles before placement so things face the right way. I imagine this would be in a future update :)

Same applies for ramps though, down want to always build them coming down, why not allow us to build them going upwards.

Had horrible troubles building ceilings with this... Really wish it would get sorted out...

Yep! The Definately need to create a "Rotate Structure" Button which you can hit, when the Structure has snapped.

It depends on what they're snapping to as to which way they face. If you're trying to snap them to a ceiling or foundation, the wall's inside texture will be facing the ceiling/foundation (in the cas of ceilings, it doesn't matter whether you are sanpping them underneath or above, the interior texture will always face the ceiling).

The real issue is with snapping walls to fence foundations, there's a consistent way to place them to get walls to face the way you want, it's hard to explain, so you really need to figure it out with experience. Fortunately, there doesn't appear to be any difference between the 'front' and 'back' of stone walls, which is what I've settled on using until the building system is overhauled and replaced with a more consistent, easier to use system. I don't particularly want to waste a bunch of metal/cement paste by having walls/ceilings place themselves in seemingly random positions.

Yes - Please god, yes.

We need to be able to snap the walls and such properly - And the game needs to be clearer about which side is which.

Bonus points if they give us interior walls that are debarked and smooth on both sides.

also think about the fences, it is very difficult to see them on the surface before creating (maybe change the color to something we can see better or remove transparency :))

+1
- let us choose the direction of walls via button
- better visuabillity for fence foundations, its realy hard to see them in the gras sometimes
- interior walls

:)
