Erm... I hate to be the one to crush your dreams - But Scythes make terrible, terrible weapons.
Trying to think of a weapon thats better than a metal pike against dino's but i can't think of any, slashing weapons would be useless against thick armoured dino's.
Bludgeoning weapons again useless on something x times bigger than you which really only leaves penetrating weapons, of which the pike is the longest while being practical.
Maybe while mounted a lance may be usefull and depending on design they could also be used in a 1 time fashion where you spear the blunt end into the ground so a charging dino will impale themselves.
Any shorter weapons like swords, while they can be used as a peircing weapon still wont be as effective as a pike with its reach.
Sheilds are the only other thing i could think of that could be usefull, obviously a player wont take the brunt of the force but they could be used to stop the actuall bite, if they x1.5 the physics impact while equipped and halved the dino damage i think they could work and be very situational, fighting a dino on a cliff say would not be ideal since it could send you flying over the side but on flat open ground it would help a fair bit.
Wouldn't like to get in the way of this guy though: https://youtu.be/djQh-7b0Fn8
Also that isn't a real scythe - They are bent in places to better allow for effective cutting of the crops.

It is... very cumbersome and not at all effective in combat. That being said, I'd love to have one to cut fibers from plants. A debarker wouldn't hurt either for thatch. :)
I'm getting really tired of cutting down entire quarries worth of boulders for a few arrows.
or fire arrows with burn damage
Fire arrows could be interesting as a way to set structures on fire for a short while though.
