Spino Base damage
I knocked a trike out and after i knocked it out it had 438,6 hp left, then i used my spino to attack it once, then it had 76 hp left. So my Spino made 362,6 hp damage to it. My spino has 725,2% Melee damage. So 362,6 / 725,2*100 = 50 The base damage of Spino is either 50 Or trikes maybe have natural armor.

Then? So spino has a base damage of 50.

A carno has that as base though...

I'm pretty sure i read somewhere all dinos have some armor, but dont quote me on that
jacobellinger Jun 25, 2015 @ 10:53am
did it have a saddle on it? because that has arrmer stat.

Rex has 80 base, But Spino has a faster attack rate. It wouldn't surprise me if this was accurate.

so much math...and it is interesting to me that the rex is the "stronger" of the 2...seeing as how the spino was the largest carnivorous dino

i would like to know if a lvl 1 trike would take the same amount of damage as a lvl 15 or 30 trike. Also, to find if a dino has base armor, you will need to test different dinos. Does a lvl 5 spino take 50 damage? Does a lvl 5 turtle take 50 damage? Is it possible that there are critical spots on dinos? Headshots on humans hurt more then shots to the body, is this true for dinos?

Is the base damage reletive to the level of the dino at the time of tame?

im too lazy to test this....

I started watching dino documentaries while playing this game, it seems that in the last year new evidence has come out as to how the spino functioned. They spent most of their time in the water and ate primarily fish/marine things (don’t quote me on this btw) and probably didn’t hunt that much for anything large. Given that the fish/water thing is reflected in the game I’m guessing they are treating spino as if it operates on this new theory. Also, as someone mentioned before-it attacks much faster so damage per second will be closer, or perhaps even higher

Edit: Given that OPs experiment resulted in an even number, and that said even number was 50.... I think we can infer that not only is it accurate, but perhaps trikes don't have armor and level doesn't effect damage taken.

Spinosaurus is primarily a fish eater though, very rarely would it have actually hunted anything large, so it didn't evolve the same techniques for killing as a Rex, (although Rex were scavengers, and only used their powerful bite to crush bones of already dead prey as far as I know).

T-Rex was no scavenger it always hunted live meals , it just ate such large creatures it had food lasting for hours past the opposing Dino's death .

You're both wrong and right about the rex lol....

I swear my Rex hits harder but Spino hits faster

Theres no such thing as a hunter or scavenger every meat eater does both.

Jaw strength on the T-rex is ridiculous compared to Spino. The Spino would have trouble hunting things on the same scale as the T-rex, having one of the weakest bite force of any large therapods.

T rex presumed bite force
between 7,868 and 12,814 psi (35,000 and 57,000 newtons)

Crocodile
3,700 pounds per square inch (psi), or 16,460 newtons, of bite force

Great white
nearly 4,000 psi (17,790 newtons) of bite force

Spinosaurus
1,000-2,500 psi.
