Enable dead body tracking system
I have died so many times and gone back to the area looking for my dead body or bag and cannot find it, i see some private servers put a pin on the map,. But i'm not on a private server. I want something that uses the technology in my wrist to either make a beeping sound that increases frequency when i get within range and closer, or show a small light on the ground. I've lost so much stuff cause i just cant find my body

When you die, it normally will show you where you died at (Until you respawn then it removes it from the map). All you have to do is select the region and spawn in that area. I try to write down the location I died at, but I doubt they will add anything like a body tacker anytime soon. Too many other things they have to fix first.

This would be a very nice QoL fix. I've lost a couple of bodies early on while I was blinded by Dilos and panicking. Or just I was lost already around the time I died. Tall grass and plants hiding bodies doesn't help either.

That said I don't mind them taking awhile to do this.
Well, bad idea imo, people can just yolo out and die, and get their stuff back without any problems.

- If you want the pin-feature, then play on a private server which has it activated.

It shows you where you died yes but this is so unaccurate, even the beds locations are so wrong on the map, quite useless.. I couldn't find my body and my pets many times sadly
that would be awesome. I like the idea of your wrist beeping to show you how close the body is. +1

One way (saw that in another game) would be just to increase the size of the bag(if it's a bag)
What about Official server where bodies just won't appear when you die? It's like there is no remains left over when you died on PVE by monsters. You can look around all you want within those 20min just to find nothing.

The pin feature is not accurate and you still have to survive the run back to your body.

Honestly i dont see why it cant be reversed. If you want to playw ithout it then go play on a server that has it turned off. This game is already plenty difficult with the glitched dino's and insane fall damage. No reason to use frustration in order to up the difficulty.

I also like this "getting warmer/colder" mechanic idea. Exact locations on the map, especially without the markers enabled is a bit much.
Maybe even make it a craftable item like a personal chip detector (and make it look kinda like the PKE meter from Ghostbusters cuz I said so and umm...cuz I love you guys)?

It has been mentioned before by the developers that predators can and WILL eat your dead body, and recover health doing so. In these instances, it makes sense that your body and gear should disappear (it's in the creature's gullet now :p). That should be the price for misjudging a fight against a predator. But for instances of accidental death like falling down or drowning, etc...

My friend died from bronto and no body to be found. I died from scorpion. Also no body to be found. My brother died from falling off cliff, also no dead body to be found while i was next to him and my friend down at the bottom of the cliff.

Why? If you die, you lose your stuff. Unless you're close enough to get it/died from something stupid in/around your base. Complaining because you died out away from base and didn't have a direct GPS system.....oh yeah, you can make those...

Seriously though, it's part of the game. The fact that you CAN get your stuff is more of a mechanic for OTHERS who kill you to take your stuff, not for YOU to get your stuff back. If this game were designed for SP only, I wouldn't be surprised to find out your stuff just poofed on death. While I'm not trying to say it doesn't suck losing good stuff, it's not something that should/needs to change. Period. The game doesn't need to be so hard only bottoms into BDSM scenes can tolerate the pain, but it also shouldn't hold your hand when you get a booboo. Dinos are higher value than pretty much ANY material/item(with a few exceptions and ignoring early level dinos) and you don't have ANY chance to get them back when they die. Always have backups and have backups for your backups. Life sucks, craft a helmet.

Right... There is and still should be a decay timer on dead bodies/loot bags from bodies. It obviously needs to be tweaked or whatever. Whichever or both of the two. Personally I think maybe ten or fifteen minutes for the body, then a half an hour to an hour for the bag is more than fair, but clearly it's an issue that needs to be hashed out more. Right now it seems very random whether you are able to find and retrieve your stuff. Bodies in Local play, for example, seem to last a lot longer/potentially indefinitely, whereas I've seen several other comments about Official servers like yours where they just pop into thin air in an instant.

Also, pretty sure scorpions are considered predators/carnivores.
But my point about that was that deaths by predators can and should continue to result in no body being found. Same for even if suddenly a predator finds your body and scavenges. Dems just the ropes.

it's stupid, I just died due to a game crash, went back to find my bird and my body, found my bird easy enough, body? no chance.

At least make some kind of craftable device you can wear which will beep or something when you're near it.
There shouldn't be any body tracking but rather just an indicator for when you get back into the area. The little yellow print that says it your bag should display much further away because as of right now you basically have to be ontop of your pack to get any indication that its there. Or maybe just a little yellow arrow that points down to it or something because as others have said, the bag is brown which blends in to everything and is so small that plants can easily cover it. Not to mention that bodies move and that map that shows where you died is inaccurate as hell lol

Yes please. I died yesterday from the patch rolling back the server. When I got booted I was safely in a house smelting ingots. When I logged back in I was back on bird, or I should say falling through the sky below her. It was nighttime of course so by time I got gamma up and realized what had happened I hit the ground. =/ Really tired of losing gear and pets for BS reasons like that.
