Ark = sucking up my internet :-0

Hello ive got a big problem with ark on my pc. when i start it its searching for servers and wil find a big list. But i cant find my own server + that the game his self suck up my whole internet. with each otehr big game i can alt tab and browse while the game is running aswell. But when ive started ark ,.. on every computer is it sucking up the internet :S

I agree, when you're on just the main menu or server list in the game, your internet slows to a crawl for browser.

Yea but not only on my own pc... also the one from my other half ... whos gaming aswell. i even contact my hosting to ask them if they know how to solve the problem. they sended me to this forum

Use steam server list or once you find your server , add it to favorites and on the bottom theres a filter , change it to favorites and thats it

What speeds do you guys have for your internet? I am on 160 down / 10 up and I haven't had a single speed issues with the game, Plus I host two ARK servers and still haven't noticed anything.

Ive got awsome stuff in my computer mate ;) its not the system who have trouble, i play gta5 bf4 arma 3 etc without any problem

if you'd actually read the post instead of immediately launching into your rant about system requirements, you'd see he was talking about how much internet the game uses even while sitting idly on the main menu and server list.

Most probably you got cheap router that cant handle all the connection ARK needs and thus slows the connection. Common problem...

What's most likely your problem is that the steam server list is trying to contact too many servers at once & your modem doesn't have the Cache size to handle it. To fix this:

1.) Open steam & go to the main window.

2.) Click on "steam" at the top, then click 'Settings"

3.) Switch to the "In-Game" page.

4.) At the bottom, find "In-Game server browser: Max pings / minute" & set it for the lowest option(250).

5.) (optional) Test & raise this number until it's as high as you can get it without it timing your internet out.

This will make the server list load slower, but it will no longer clog up your modem with ping requests, effectively shutting your other internet traffic down. It will have no effect on your gameplay whatsoever.
