Dodos can take down a T-Rex? :D
We were very shocked to see a red message pop up yesterday that stated our little Anne dodo was killed by a rex. With heavy hearts, we headed up north to our dodo farm expecting the worst.

We found the little fence broken in one spot but our other six dodos, Romeo and Juliet, Dezi and Lucy, Gilbert and little Mindy were still there but scattered all around the shack. (Poor Gilbert lost his beloved Anne, the grandma of the bunch.)

We repaired the fence and set about feeding the dodos and to our surprise, found two rex arms (or maybe legs, I can't remember) in Romeo.

I had no idea that dodos could take down a rex but I am thinking that is what happened!

We are making sure to reinforce the dodo farm pen now and making sure all the dodos have lots of melee damage, health and stamina as they level.

We sure were shocked and surprised by the outcome of this little adventure on ARK. :D

Does anyone know what kind of melee damage an average rex has on a pve official server? We have been scared silly of these guys, ever since one killed us numerous times when we first started playing, but now our dodos have given us new courage. :)

I think we all know how the Dodos pulled it off after the loss of their family member. http://giphy.com/gifs/test-jess-super-saiyan-soccer-OvzMNfWETBoKQ

It was likely low health from killing everything. Most carnivores tend to go on a rampage from creature to creature until they die.

Dodo's are capable of killing the Brood mother. I have video and picture evidence of the 31 dodo army I took versus her more then once and won, with little to no losses each time.

The game is seriously so unbalanced when it's tamed vs untamed.

in the epic fail thread, I posted what happened to me - battled with a croc and barely lived, had a sliver of health, only to be killed by a mad dodo that came up behind me and hit me for my last sliver of health.

If a critters health is low, dodo's can take em out rather quickly.

land carnivores regen all their health eating their prey before moving on to the next kill. A rex will never die without player intervention.

I've seen one die fighting 4 brontos, two carnos, and a turtle.

Well thats just not true at all...have seen few brotos take out a t-rex no problem....
Its all about the situation at hand and the lvl of all dinos involved.
Even t-rex gets his ass kicked in the natural corse of things from time to time lol....

Wild stegos are brutal in groups of 3-4+.
Spend some time along the south-central river area....always come to the banks around there where there is a few steggos and see PILES of dead carnivours lol...once saw 3 stegos and in between them was dead 2 carno, raptor, and 4 dilos...FREE LUNCH!!!

I think dodos give rex problems due to their size. The little buggers can get right under them and out of the way of the dangerous parts. I've seen wild t-rexes struggle to kill dodos sometimes. Eventually the rex would win, but until then, it seems to be chomping at air as the dodo runs under them. Maybe the dodos ran under it and pecked the heck out of its ankles XD

This thread has convinced me to knock out a few dodos after the servers stabilize and make the unstoppable Dodo Militia.
Syd Khaos Jun 24, 2015 @ 10:54am
Thats very possible...the bigger dinos to have blind spots in there attacks so to speak.

If your good at jumping you can actually spear a broto to death without being hit once...just jump on its back and start stabbing away...when it moves to strike jump so ya dont fall off......kinda tricky to stay on but have persoanly killed 2 brontos this way (got killed by about 5 trying this though lol).

Very possible the dodo are just able to stay in blind spot of t-rex.
