Placing fence foundation and pillars
Been trying to experiment with base builds and have found that placing these two items is particularly frustrating. Trying to build fence foundations ground which is even slightly uneven (as most ground is) is absolutely infuriating. Now ive had issues with this before that seems like it was just bad placement, but is it possible to make fence foundations snap to eachother like regular ones do? is there any surefire way to know exactly where to place a pillar so that it will function as intended to provide support for another level?

I have found the camera in these situations frustrating as its very hard to gauge the distance and whether the structures line up as you would want them to (i would love to see the ability to snap spike walls as well). maybe a "builder" view that is topdown that you can toggle would help if making the option to snap more structures to eachother is not feasible?

anyway I just wanted to voice some of my issues with building in the game so far. Overall the experience has been great, Im loving the constant stream of content and performance updates! I would love to see some of the more frustrating building systems get some love in the near future like balancing costs of materials for certain structures, streamlining things like laying irrigation, and having a better way to ensure that structures are being placed in the desired location... it wouldnt be a big deal if it wasnt so punishing to have to demolish something you just built and lose out on some valuable resources.

Keep up the good work devs!

Don't forget placing a fence foundation, and when you set down the wall on top of it, it's flipped around compared to all the other walls. It's one of the main reasons I'd wish they'd implement a 'recover/move' function instead of just 'demolish'.

the fence foundations do snap together and then they also go to other angles when snapped but hard to do as very twitchy controls. plus they will probably be back to front when you place the walls on them. half my walls are the wrong way round.

the pillars are a real pain as when they are placed the roofs/walk ways dont always like the placement. i think they have some work to do on the construction side of things but they are getting there.
