Are trees respawning?
I know that rocks on the ground and bushes are respawning, but what about the big rocks and the trees?

Everything respawns - When not close to foundations.

yeah big rocks and trees respawn but it takes alot longer, best way to get them to respawn is totally leave the area for a long period of time (with no peoples going into it) then come back later. Server restarts seem to make them spawn back in as well. Occasionally the respawn will glitch and you'll see them pop in for 1 or 2 seconds then vanish.

yeah leave area for a decent ammount of time. go hunting, or heres a good way to do it, if you have a good mount. build a small wood farming base with bed and storage, a good bit away from your base. once your farm everything at your base, move there and farm for awhile. when you get back ♥♥♥♥ will have respawned.

Okay thanks guys. How long do you think the respawn is for A) ground-rocks and bushes, and B) rock-formations & trees? Because I've been chopping in a certain area, at least 7 days ago, and I can't see any new trees popping into existence.

Thanks!

There seems to have been a change in respawn rate as of the last patch. I used to have a huge bush field next to my house that would respawn every hour or two which was keeping me fed and helping out my massive fiber needs. After the patch, I played for a solid 5 hours and the bushes never came back. Neither did any trees or rocks I harvested, where previously they would come back after a few hours, the smaller trees respawning along with the bushes every 1-2 hours.

To be fair, this may or may not be related to the "Major map update" listed in the last patch notes. But I dread wiping my solo play map to simply test and find out.

Thanks very much for the help Twin!
I don't think I have seen trees respawning on my single player game.. it would be a shame if it's bugged :(

Well I play solo and I can say that trees seem to be respawning very slow if at all. Don't know the rest I usually don't destroy resources when harvesting.
A bronto came and took down all the trees all around my base as far as eye can see in just 2 ingame days. Nothing has respawned at all

foliage takes minutes, trees take hours, and rocks can be half a day.

When you play solo your internal ark server is not running when you exit single player... stuff doesn't respawn that well unless the server is constantly up. This will be looked into when the game is more ready for actual release. Currently it is encouraging playing together on servers.

Thanks mate! It's a pity to hear that single player is underbalanced in that aspect as compared with multi-player. I kinda like playing single player (that's the control freak in me talking though..)

Ah I just thought of something. Is there some kind of respawn timer involved? Because I travelled through the area I previously deforested, which might have caused this timer to reset..

Same here :)

But in the meantime it's good to know where the issue is, I'll simply let the game run over, if my character is neaked it's not a problem is she dies of hunger/thirst :p

Not fast enough OP, and i'm not sure all are respawning we have huge areas where i am that never respawn and players are wiping them out faster than they regrow...

I think the respawning is bugged...in certain parts..

Thanks! Hopefully the dev's have some time to look into this. I kinda get the idea about ecological impact, but it should be a balance between that, and annoyance.

It's now 3 am irl where I live i'm going to bed and i left the game running. Will check on tree regrowth when I wake up in 8 hours or so and let you now how it went.
