Domestication V Taming
I've been playing an SP game recently testing out ideas and it occurred to me last night that 95% of my "tames" are purely for egg production.

The process remains the same to capture and pen them however but because egg production is hit and miss and potentially time consuming I inevitably tame multiple females purely to increase the odds of an egg drop.

Why can't we introduce a "domestication" method for farming dinos.

- They can't be ridden, only led into a penned area for eggs?
- The pens need to be made properly or they will escape?
- They are passive?

Ways to implement:-

- A 50% tame level with a "domesticate" button?
- A berry or meat combination?
- Herbivores could be mustered by using a tame? ie: "Follow me". (like sheep and cattle)

For those that essentially hold most of their animals just for eggs (for the better tames) a setup like this would be a good replacement for a tedious taming process purely for farming purposes.

Just putting it out there. What say you?

Personally, I think they have done enough to add egg production in the game. I can easily obtain more than 100 eggs in a week from tames and wild. If I focues on it I could double that.

What more is needed?

Players using less testosterone and more facts. 100 a week is either a massive tame farm or you sit there ALL day or you're quoting dodo eggs.

I could see this as part of a scaling more interesting taming mechanism.

Rather than one 5 or 6 hour session for a very high level (non-kibble) tame you have to spend multiple sessions of shorter duration taming and training your pet.

Dinos have a base behavior of passive, neutral or aggressive.

1st step is basic domestication, can be led by a rope (use for fiber)
2nd step can be told to stay and follow
3rd step Dino is ridable and can be told to change base behavior one notch (passive to neutral and vice versa, aggressive to neutral and vice versa), raptors and sabers gain attack target
4th step can change range of aggressive (small, medium, large range by size)
5th step full range of behaviors including attack target for all.

Have a series of trials to go through each step rather than tying it to levels.

I'm just waiting for the devs to make having more male dinos useful.
One is needed just for farming, it dims out the purpose of having multiple if only purely for decorations sake.
Just a few more points added to the likleyness of getting an egg faster would be enough.
