Friend can't join Hamachi server.
So my friend is hosting an ark server on Hamachi, we don't plan on buying a dedicated server and we'd really like to continue using Hamachi. I can join it, so can another friend, and so can my friend that hosts it, but another one of our friends can't. He has joined the Hamachi network and he is connected to it, but he still can't.

For me it usually shows up when I use the "lan" filter in-game, it was a little messy for me and it didn't work right away when I was trying to join for the first time but it did eventually. It doesn't up when using the "lan" filter for my friend. We've tried going into View > Servers > Favorites and adding the server but it's not working. But it's only doing this: https://gyazo.com/0b63ae5c00b916173a20e3bb824cc411

He got the game to play with us, and we wouldn't want him to waste his money. Another friend will soon be joining too, and we don't want her to run into the same problem.

Best regards,
André

Try switching off firewalls and antiviruses on your friends machine, see if either of those are blocking the connection.

Like I said, we'd prefer to stick with Hamachi. So if anyone has any ideas please tell us.

Just told him to try it, will see if that works. I'd still gladly take some more tips incase it does not work.

Ok if that does not work try reinstalling hamachi, once you have uninstalled hamachi make sure the hamachi network driver is uninstalled in device manager before reinstalling. (I pursume you are on windows?) right click on This PC/Computer and click manage. Down the left handside click device manager, then expand network adapters, if logmein hamachi virtual ethernet driver is still there, right click and unistall, make sure you tick the option delete driver software if it gives you the option.

Okay thank you! We shall try all of this later today when the server is up. :)

Cool, I hope it works for you!

Why you want hamachi? You guys can simply open a host, and anyone can join it thru LAN.
Sargeras Aug 25, 2015 @ 2:41am
on official forum you asking how to play via hamatchi pirated game. a bad idea.
You don't need Hamachi .. as long as you have purchased the game legally, you can set up a server at home, and set password on it, or even whitelist ... Hamachi is for people who tend to play on cracked/pirated versions, and should not get help from official forum for that!

Oh, I didn't know that. I will talk to my friend who hosts the server. We've used Hamachi for some other games and we feel safe with it.

To anyone thinking that we pirated the game, we have all paid with our own money for the game. If we hadn't I wouldn't have bothered to make this post for my friend.

Also, doesn't LAN require you to be on the same internet network? We're all in different countries so yeah...

Hamachi creates a DIRECT connection, and sometimes that works better than the online servers some companies use. it is NOT about piracy

Steam interprets it as lan and I think they are using the Steam API to make it possible to connect, it's not actually LAN (it's more like a WAN). I think it does the same thing with several other games that you can create private servers for.

Also why doesnt your friend ask his/her self if he/she has this game legitamately then they have a steam account.

I know you mentioned you didn't want a dedicated server, but you can get one that hosts up to 10 people for like $10 a month.

where, ive only seen hosts that allow a minimum of 30 and that was considerably more than 10 a month.
