Just told him to try it, will see if that works. I'd still gladly take some more tips incase it does not work.
To anyone thinking that we pirated the game, we have all paid with our own money for the game. If we hadn't I wouldn't have bothered to make this post for my friend.
Also, doesn't LAN require you to be on the same internet network? We're all in different countries so yeah...
Hamachi creates a DIRECT connection, and sometimes that works better than the online servers some companies use. it is NOT about piracy
Steam interprets it as lan and I think they are using the Steam API to make it possible to connect, it's not actually LAN (it's more like a WAN). I think it does the same thing with several other games that you can create private servers for.
Also why doesnt your friend ask his/her self if he/she has this game legitamately then they have a steam account.
where, ive only seen hosts that allow a minimum of 30 and that was considerably more than 10 a month.
