Server difficulty reset, need to reset wild spawns
I'm trying to change the difficulty and spawn settings on my server, but the effect doesn't properly take place because existing dinos aren't affected. Is there any way to reset or purge wild creatures without killing my players' pets in the process?

Dino's despawn after about 2-15 minutes of not being loaded. You could restart the server, and keep it closed for that time to let the dino's purge themselves.

Go on a mass dino cull

I've had it down for longer than that, and MUCH longer than that with nobody on the server. The same level 8 spino still owns the nearby river. She's decidedly refusing to despawn.

Yeah, that's been the current strategy. My carno's getting some decent XP at least.

You can do a destroyall of the ants, dragonflies, bats, etc. Non-tamables, this will loosen up the availability for some new dinos to spawn in at new levels. Over time your players will wipe out the lower levels and the problem will fix itself (just give it the bump with killing ants, nobody will mind!)

First, DO NOT use the admin kill commands. Those will kill all the tamed dino's as well. Unless you are ok with that.

Taking the server down will not respawn the Dino's. The only real way without killing friendlies is to just go on a killing rampage.

I'm having trouble finding the commands to kill by species. Could someone point me in the right direction?

Just need to type out "admincheat destroyall <type>" or "destroyall <type>" and it should eliminate all creatures of that type. The types and commands are all available on the wiki, like 'Bigfoot_Character_BP_C' for Gigantopithicus, or 'MegaRaptor_Character_BP_C' for Alpha Raptors.

That'll help greatly, thanks.

That will destroy every dino of that type even tamed ones. So be very very careful with it.

Yeah, just have to use it to target untameable species, or species that nobody on my server has tamed currently. Like turtles (because useless), sarcos, spinos, plesios, etc. Could probably tag parasaurs and trikes too, assuming I warn people they'll lose a pet or two. Don't think those see much use anymore.

I think "admincheat destroyallenemies" will kill only wild dinos and leave tamed dinos alive, but I HAVE NOT tried it. Maybe load up single player, forecetame something then try it there to see if it nukes the tamed dinos as well.

Every time I've seen this brought up claimed the opposite. It really shouldn't destroy tame animals, though.

Er actually the Wiki doesn't say this one destroys tamed. Might try it in single player to see first though. I wouldn't risk it on a live server.
