Not to mention, how are you going to manage their AI? Are they just going to keep building things randomly?
Still doesn't answer the question.
How are you going to create effective neanderthal AI? What happens when you destroy their tribe? Do they just build in random spots? Do they expand? How big will tribes be?
You don't have them go off on their own, you got a couple of small huts they are "tethered" to.
So they are just going to randomly take up island space?
Sounds horribly annoying.
Are there going to be spawn limits? Size limits? Do they kill other dinos? Do they craft?
Creating Neanderthal tribes would require a crapton more work that could be spent doing other things.
thank you
Simulating simple animal behavior is far, far easier than simulating human behavior.
Expecially those who are able to build and make tools.
Survivor, [KyG]-Box asks, “Do you ever plan on releasing AI tribesmen?”
Answer: Nope -- but modders could :D
come on now... They didn't simulate animal behavior. They are skins walking around. It would be no different than the animals. They already have dilos that have ranged attacks and they are introducing plants that have ranged attacks soon.
I'm not asking for perfection here... If I was I'd be complaining about every dino that already is in the game. They all just wander around aimlessly with no thought of what's near them. You think a bunch of trikes would just stand there watching a TRex run up on them? no they'd be working together as a pack.
I don't have those expectations. That's VERY hard for them to do, something you suggest is easy. I'm content with mobs floating around in areas.
And there's no reason to pretend it's any more difficult for them to make humaniod mobs. There are 1000's of open world games that have humanoid mobs.
I also don't have a problem if they arn't planning on doing it either. The devs got a lot on their plate. Just an idea I had and floated it.
Then you are basically asking for apes with houses that randomly spawn near them. What exactly is the pupose of that then?
So, they aren't going to build, or hunt, or start fires, or create tools, or interact. Just wander around.
If you are not going to have the humanoids act like humanoids, then there is not real purpose to adding them. You are basically asking for dinosaurs with a human skin.
