Ark DX11 feature level 10.0 is required to run the engine.

I see many people are having the same problem with this and can't play ark. I was wondering if anyone might have some good tips on how to make it work.

ou need to install or update DirectX 11 as that error message is telling you that DX11 feature level 10.0 is not installed. I also recommend installing latest graphic card drivers as well.

Not always.. Most likely incompatible hardware (EG : Integrated OLD GPU or similar)

I am new to this sort of thing, this is the first time it's happened to me in any game I play, sorry :P. I have windows 7 home premium service pack 1. Processor: Pentium(R) Dual-Core. 3 GB RAM. 64-bitoperating system. And that's all it tells me.

I also have a Dual-Core 64bit, and im holding of from getting the game untill i get an upgrade to at least and i3 or higher depending on what my budget will allow in in the next few months. The Dual-Cores can run it with 4GB of RAM (witch i would deffintly recommend getting) but they will have a hard time when loading and unloading the game from the 1 time i was able to test this on my rig.

For your GPU rightclick on your computer icon on the desktop and select "manage" then goto "device management" and look under "display adapters". That is going to be most important for overall performance of this game.

Try to right click ARK in steam library, the click properties and in General tab click launch options and write there

exactly like I wrote it, click OK and try to run the game.

my problem is not the speed of the game running, I just cant run it at all. I did try putting in -sm4 but I got the same error

Yeah he missed the most important part you want to add:

-sm4 -d3d10

-sm4 = shader if im not mistaken.
-d3d10 = forces dx10

They go hand in hand though.

Also since you have 3GB RAM run it on low memory, you willl need it.

Have you tried low memory mode? 3GBs of RAM is not much.

btw in case it is important, it says I have Intel(R) G33/G31 Express Chipset Family

Have you tried low memory mode? 3GBs of RAM is not much.

Yes, thats what I thought, I wasnt 100% sure about that comand. Tho I thought -sm4 will automatically run the game in DX10 because it is the old shader model that DX10 used but I guess I was wrong ;)
