Quick one: Do wandering dinos self feed?
I took a look around search and the wiki, buggered if I could find the answer. I cut loose all my trikes and apes on a fenced off spit and not sure if I need troughs or not.

Do they look after themselves on wander?

Nope, you still need to feed them.

I don't think they do, though the ape seems to collect from bushes, not sure if it collects berries or just fiber.

Carnivors set on aggresive + wander will actually hunt and feed temselves, provided there is something to hunt, which usually isn't uneless you have huge area where dino's can spawn. E.g if you gate some of those ravines.

No but they should. The ape only gathers fiber by itself it can't even gather berries.
Carnivores will if they eat something that attacks them but only if they attack an extra time or are on aggressive.
They check their target, if on neutral they will check to make sure the target is alive before they attack they will leave a corpse.
Attack your target will sometimes make them eat a kill sometimes they will stop after killing it.

Depends. The ape does and the carnivores do get meat off of bodies if they're on aggressive.

If you want your dinos to feed themselves build a feeding trough nearby. Then put small amounts of berries and meat (a stack at the time generally) till you see it stop decrementing. Don't keep large amounts of food in there unless you really have no trouble collecting more... as it will spoil quickly.

then you are still feeding your dinos. just not directly to their inventory, but to the trough instead.
that´s not self feeding, you still have to refill the troughs very regulary.

it´s sad that you can´t set herbivores to gather their food on their own, like you can with carnivores. and it´s also sad that you can´t anchor your dinos so they come back to their supposed anchor point after they ran off to eat something.
ever set a t-rex to agressive? i had a hard time to get back my rex after i accidentally set him to agressive and he took off to eradicate the whole coastline. i didn´t know about the whistle stop all when this happened ;-)

Anchor points would be amazing.
