Additionally, a lv70 dino will usually have the same stats as a lv5 dino that's been leveled up to 30 something. The point of high level dinos is they start out a little higher than normal and they gain more points per stat upon level up. I have 2 Rexes- one started at lv10 and the other at lv50. The lv10 gets about 200HP per level-up while the lv50 gets 900HP per level-up. Even if you tame lv100 dino, it still needs some training to become useful. The amount of level-ups counts more than the actual level.
ALWAYS check the starting stats before you put effort into a tame. If you don't like what you see, you'll have to keep looking. I tamed a lv89 ankylo that only started with 300 weight >.< it sucks, but it's my own fault for not paying attention.
