Turret Damage Needs To Be Percent Based
With the current increase in difficulty allowing players to tame dinos up to level 120 turrets have become pretty worthless vs tamed dinos. The amount of health you can stack on dinos makes them extremely tanky even vs turrets with thousands of bullets in them. For instance we were able to tame an Albo rex with 58 000 health and it wasn't even close to reaching max level.

As a result turrets are now only meaningful against tamed birds. Instead I think the way the ways turrets work vs damaged dinos needs to change from a fixed amount to a percentage. This would make them once more a threat vs all dinos and not just bird killers.

That's stupid. People could just spam turrets and become absolutely unraisable.

Erm, no.

Dinos like Rex are meant to be a bulky mess, and it's true that turrets are pretty useless to them, but you're not going to sit in your base with just turrets on and watch as Rex comes in through your gate. I mean.. by the time you have turret you would have at least few Rex of your own, and if you're in a well coordinated tribe, birds are a huge counter against large dinos like that as their riders are very vulnerable, thus making turrets useful in defense against aerial assault to protect you from the enemy birds, which is a huge advantage of it's own. As you can easily-though it might take a bit time-chomp down a riderless dinos. Even a Dimo is pretty good at that if you don't have good bird riders.

I at least agree on that dinos get too much health late game.. and do believe there needs to be rebalancing in stats, but not change how turret's damage work into percentage damage. Alpha Dog's thought on that is quite accurate

Turrets need a weakness. To me turrets are anti air weapons meant to stop people from overcoming your first line of defense your front walls.

With turrets you force them to ground and through all you walls. Costing them more resources.

Bases should never be 100% safe ever.

yeah but turrets should kill dinos lol.
bring turrets down with rockets.

If turrrets are meant to be anti air then their should be an option on them at least to set them to fire only at birds.

Okay, I can understand this one. Turrents doing percentage damage that can be mitigated by the saddle armor that they have on them. But I would want a toughness stat to mitigate it more. LIke each point of toughness added to the dino could reduce the damage by a very small percentage.

Percentile damage makes health stat irrelevant and that toughness stat will act as HP stat now, except that it will be more powerful because by reducing incoming damage it will effectively increase dino's natural heal and when force fed.

Anyone who played EvE online is familiar with concept "effective hp" or "ehp":
let say dino has 1k hp and no resistance whatsoever, that means you need to deal 1k damage to it to kill. If that dino gets 20% resistance you will need 1000*(1/0.8)=1250 damage to kill it, that means that 1k hp dino with 20% resistance has 1250 ehp. That also means that stack of meat will restore 125 ehp instead of usual 100 hp.

A good combination of jorneyman or higher saddle + toughness will make things even worse than they are now. Also less damage means less torpor applied from attacks making narco traps and tranq arrows less effective to defend against dinos.

It's paper/rock/scissors. (mounted) Birds beat Rexes, Rexes beat turrets, turrets beat birds. How hard is that to understand? Tame a bunch of dimophodons and keep them in your base if you really want something to screw with the Rex's. Also you can set your turrets to only target players and not dinos, so if they ever get off their mounts to lay down C4 or chunk grenades, loot, w/e, they will get shot at.
