Construction Problems
So one problem I have noticed if you try to build a wall using foundations, so you can make a inside similar to castles with ceilings and all, you can't build on even slightly not level land, meaning your wall size will be very tiny as no land is level. One thing I tried was using pillars once the land slopped up by connecting to ceilings, however this left giant gaps in the bottom as the walls wouldn't go through the ground.

Perhaps buildings should be allowed to go somewhat into the ground, so you can fill gaps and such in the bottom of your structure?

Correct dont use foundations on uneven ground, use Pillars with ceilings on them. Problem solved and ifyou want to remove the top of the pillar poking through the new "floor" build a ceiling on top of that (it works trust me I've done it) then build your walls etc off that top ceiling.

I had a similar problem building my water base. You could try placing ramps off the bottom of the walls, just to fill in the gaps.

How does that work for a wall... They will walk under it, might as well not build it then :c

-Edit-
I mean a wall that you would place around a entire base that has many buildings, not a wall for a house.

You can build wall sections partially into the ground already, build them below the ceiling tile you place on the pillar to box the pillar in, like a skirting, if you will. Wish I had a picture to explain this... I mean I do I guess, my house is a pillar house, but I use stone walls to blend into the ground to give the illusion it is on a cobbled/earthy foundation. Works well for moderate inclines, but some places will restrict it. If you are referring to the gaps under the fence foundations that can occur when building along a slope that are big enough to prone crawl through, you have to use pillars to block the gaps, no real other way to do it since there is no way to build "below" a fence foundation and you cant build ramps/ceilings, etc off the wall sections on fence foundations.

I am using normal foundations so I can build roofs and such on the walls, and have insides to them, similar to castle walls. The problem with it is there are holes in the bottom that you could crawl through.
