PVE Hackers, your stuff is not safe!
Hey all you PVE guys. Your stuff is not safe. Just so you know you can lose ALL of your stuff. I started on a PVE server so I didn't have to deal with this.

I have 2 bases, one all stone, one all metal on a PVE Official Server. Hackers broke into BOTH of them and destroyed all of my chests, and beds. All doors and entry points locked and in place as they were since day 1. THEY ALSO KILLED US! we spawned in dead with no beds!

We were on the day before so I know there was no Demo timer, even if so, and all metal base demo timer is LONG.

We are max level with no clothes, tools, or ANYTHING to maintain our base. 500+ hours wiped on a PVE server..

Don't get too secure even if you are on a PVE server guys. Hackers can still take everything away from you instantly.

sounds more like you had a dino glitch into your base and it destroyed everything it could, and since your bases are stone/metal the outer structure wouldn't take any damage. did you by chance look at your death message to see what killed you? if there was no message than you probably got pushed under the map and died there.

No just "you died".

They hit 2 bases. All chests destroyed, AND our dinos are inside alive and completely fine.

There was no dino glitching.

All of our food and eggs were taken out of fridges, generators, smithies. EVERYTHING is gone.

Hackers can use admin commands. So the more admin commands they give, they are just giving hackers the ability to use them. They have no hacker prevention built into the game - they are relying on Steam to prevent them. So its not going to work well. Steam games get hacked all the time, so obviously thats a bad company to rely on for that kind of thing.

Servers should have a script that requires a whitelist of admins that is modified on the computer only and protected once the server boots. Any steam name that issues an admin command is instantly perma banned. Its quite simple to block that kind of thing.

So I guess official servers have an admin password as well, that if anyone "hacks" they can do whatever they want on the server?

If this is the case, it should be easy to look at the logs and see who issued the command. Then ban their steam and IP.

I've had this same thing happen. Two bases, a starter base first (lost its storage boxes and fireplaces), and on a seperate server our east coast base (lost all containers, a bed, all fireplaces). Both bases closed and locked, undamaged without pin access, dinos healthy and happy outside. In the latter case, the workstations stayed intact, their contents untouched. I'd put my money on a bug, rather than hackers - both times it happened after a patch, I suspect its a lost data bug similar to the post-patch vanishing dinos (also experienced that one).

thanks Mithyk for the info, but why would it happen to both our bases far apart on the map, and to no one else?

We come up with that before. Lost like 40 eggs, 400 metals, 100 jerky or so.

This only happened on the fridge, smithy, generator, etc, those you are not able to lock.

We lost most our stuff in those facility and same thing happened to others in our server.

Well, I have no idea but considering the amount of reports of something like that in the last two weeks gets more and more there might indeed be a working hack.

If they had the admin password they would not need to break into other peoples bases to steal, they could spawn the items they want. So its rather unlikely the hack has something to do with the ingame admin commands.

Give me your server number and co-ordinates. I'll see what I can do.

it had to be a hack. They took all items from our smithies, fridges, mortar and pestles, generators, grills, etc.

They were somehow able to destroy every storage container, and kill both tribe members.

Aggro a raptor, fly on top of a base and wait until the raptor blows a hole inside. Kill the raptor, loot everything. Drag the bodies into the water. Loot the corpses after they drowned.

Yoth, on PVE you can't pick up wild raptors. Also it was stone, and raptors do not destroy stone.

Just an example. You can do that with a t-rex or an alpha too... and you don't need to pick them up, just wait until they aggro and fly on top.

But yeah... if one was a metal base it doesn't work that way.

Same thing happened to me after logging in just now after two days of not playing. I live in an all-stone house with spikes around outside. Inside my house, I have 3-4 more rooms and reinforced doors to make sure raiders can't get in fast and take all my stuff. When I logged in, I was apparently killed by a level 32 raptor (not sure if wild or tamed). Respawned and searched for my house but when I got inside, all my stuff including bed, campfire and mortar and pestle are gone.

I'm not so sure anymore if this was a bug.

Alpha raptors do. And he never said pick the raptor up, just aggro it then go over to the base. No need to pick it up. However, this would have ended up with the outside of the base destroyed and probably the outside dinos as well.
