Taming Effectiveness adds bonus levels when Dinos are tamed as well.
At 100% Taming Effectiveness Dinos will get half of their Max Level as bonus.
So 100% TE Level 50 Rex will get +25 Bonus Levels / Level 100 Rex will get +50 Bonus Levels etc.
Of course on normal settings (Official Server settings) it is impossible to tame with 100% Effectiveness (Unless it is 1 Kibble tame I guess) - as far as I know a Level 120 Rex will get +51 Level Bonus (with around 85% Taming Effectiveness) if it is tamed with best possible food (Pulminoscorpicus Kibble for Rex's) on Official Server Settings.
Which will get him up to level 120+51=171
After that point your 50 Level Cap comes in to play. You can get +50 Levels on top of that Level. (Might be 49, I hit some Dino's to max level and suspecting that it is 49 not 50)
Which makes the possible Highest level Trained Dinosaur to;
Level 120 + 51 Bonus + 50 Trained Levels = 221 on Official Server Settings.
As a side note, it doesn't matter what level a Dinosaur is at after being Tamed, it will always require same amount of Xp to level up again (with training)
Example: You tamed 2 rex's. One of them is level 10 after Tame, the other is Level 100 after tame, it will take both of them only 10 xp to get to Level 11 and 101 respectively. (Out of 50 Train cap)
Thanks for the answer :D
