Gigantopithecus - taming issues
Once this is unconscious there is no access to its inventory and you do not have a taming status either it just says unconscious and you can do nothing. Also the only way to skin a dead one is with a mount. All my weapons would not skin the animal.

this is as intended by devs...you cannot violent tame it and it basically goes into a coma and then dissappears when you leave far enough away.

You can't tame them by knocking them out, they use the same passive taming that itchys use.

It's a pain in the ass to tame. Sometimes it gets aggroed too easily, making the taming progress go down a lot, because it stays aggroes for a minute to a couple minutes. And you kinda have to stay behind it so its less likely to see you
