My Dino Taming Trap
I use these traps to tame any dino up to a Carno in size. They work great, keep the dino safe, and after having tamed 7 dino's I have yet to die or have the dino die from something. Please let me know what you all think and if you build one and find it useful / or like it :)

resources needed to build

All stone except ramps
4 X foundations
6 X walls for 2nd level
5 X windows
door frame and door
stone dino gate frame and gate
3 wooden ramps

CHeck out my Steam screen shots for the pics :)

Edit: This trap can be built larger and higher for the larger dino's :)

I believe it's because most people that would be interested in doing this, have been doing it now for awhile. I have a raptor taming pen that I built a month ago that I hardly use anymore. Don't need anymore raptors lol

lol I think you over thought this. I tamed a T-Rex at early levels with 1 wooden foundation, 3 wooden walls, 1 wooden doorway, and 1 wooden ceiling. I didn't put the door in the frame because that was my "window". I aggro'd the Rex, ran into the 1x1 and crouched in the corner. Rex came and started munching on the wooden structure but I was able to knock it out (barely had enough tranq arrows lol) before he could break the wooden structure. Piece of cake :)

I also used this method for a raptor and scorpions. They can't fit through the doorway and the doorway provides a large area to shoot them with arrows.

Well to start an alpha can run up your ramp? A vulture can land inside?, and bugs can get inside? your location might be ideal having none of these factors makes it work. try this same design near a mountain foothill or where there are predators.

Yeah, in dangerous areas I just make a big metal box with a behemoth gate and some windows/doorways to shoot through. The ramp is nice, but I find a giant gate works better. Run in the giant gate, run out the small door, run around and close the gate. Easy peasy.

I agree with oldreservist, it isn't perfect, but it is a wonderful idea in my mind. I'l probably build one. Just a note though, i have gotten raptors through normal doorways, so careful there. if they do it straight on they will go through. not usually, but once in a while.

My favorite is to build an epit "hunting tower" near where lots of large game spawn. like spino's and sarcos. i make it 5x5 stone wide, 2 high. then the center goes up as high as i want. high enough a trex hasn't figured out why it isnt close enough yet. I even made a bird landing zone above the 3x3 shooting platform at the top. tho to easilly land a bird you really need 7x7 :( or maybe a wall on only 3 sides? 1 side 2 high? i haven't tried.

It does have a DooM'inesque retro feel to them.

Easy, it's all I can afford, not everyone has extra money to throw around, specially for someone like me who takes care of his 72 year old mother who is in a wheel chair.

For your information, that is built right at the bottom of the Red Obelisk mountain, it's how I got my scorpion AND sabercat
